Installation of the AC Generator Control-Harness

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the thrust-reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Installation of the engine protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION are installed to prevent damage to the engine. CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 24-21-61-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Connection the AC Generator Control-Harness
(1) Connect the harness connectors to the transmitter receptacles:
(a) Examine, align and engage the connector.
(b) Push lightly on the connector in while you tighten the coupling ring.
(c) Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT and tighten the connector against the receptacle.
(d) Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
(e) While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
(f) Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(2) Connect the harness connectors to the engine and pylon:
(a) Connect the connector (P70) to the Low Oil Pressure (LOP) switch receptacle (J70).
(b) Connect the connectors (4000XU-A), (4000XU-B) and (4000XU-C) to the Integrated Generator (IDG) receptacles.
(c) Connect the connectors (401VC), (404VC) and (405VC) to the pylon receptacles.
(d) Connect the connector (P60) to the hydraulic pump receptacle (J60).
(3) Attach the harness (1) to the engine with the clamps as follows:
(a) Start from the middle of the harness (1).
(b) Attach the harness (1) to the brackets with the nine bolts (2), washers (3) and clamps (4).
(c) Make sure that the tension in the harness (1) is sufficient to prevent loose or tight conditions.
(d) TORQUE the bolts (2) to between 34 and 31 lbf.in (0.38 and 0.35 m.daN )

(4) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
Subtask 24-21-61-410-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Connect the harness connectors to the transmitter receptacles:

REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):

(1) Make sure that the IDG 1 (2) operates correctly.
(a) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(b) On the ECAM control panel, push the ELEC key to get the ELEC page:
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the IDG 1 (2) operates correctly.
(a) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(b) On the ECAM control panel, push the ELEC key to get the ELEC page:
- Make sure that the voltage of the IDG is 115VAC
- Make sure that the frequency of the IDG is 400Hz + or - 5Hz.
