   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead panel, on ENG section of control panel 50VU, make sure that the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

4. Procedure
WARNING: USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
Subtask 24-21-51-420-160-A
A. Installation of the IDG
   (1) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and that there are no unwanted materials.
   (2) Install the 98D71203015000 IDG R/I CRADLE (CFM) on the 98D71203022000 ADAPTER-TROLLEY R/I IDG (PW AND CFM).
   (3) Attach the IDG (1) to the 98D71203015000 IDG R/I CRADLE (CFM) as follows:
     (a) Attach the IDG (1) to the 98D71203015000 IDG R/I CRADLE (CFM) with the detail straps. Refer to the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) manufacturer's instructions.
   (4) Lift the 98D71203015000 IDG R/I CRADLE (CFM) to the correct installation position with the 98D71203022000 ADAPTER-TROLLEY R/I IDG (PW AND CFM). Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
   (5) Lubricate the thread of the QAD tension bolt (30), the new AIPC 24-21-51-61-050 PACKING (32) and the new AIPC 24-21-51-61-010 PACKING (33) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
   (6) Install the packing (33) in the groove of the IDG (1).
   (7) Install the packing (32) in the groove of the IDG shaft (31).
   (8) Make sure that the QAD adapter/ring alignment mark and the QAD adapter plate alignment-mark are aligned (OPEN marks).
     (a) If they are not aligned, turn the QAD tension bolt (30) to open the QAD ring until the QAD adapter/ring alignment-marks on the QAD ring become aligned.
   (9) Operate the 98D71203022000 ADAPTER-TROLLEY R/I IDG (PW AND CFM) to align the IDG (1) with the mark on the QAD adapter and the pins with the pin holes. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
   (10) Tighten the QAD tension bolt (30) with your hand until the IDG input flange lugs are fully engaged in the QAD ring lugs.
   (11) Make sure that the ring of the QAD coupling (29) turns easily.
   (12) TORQUE the QAD tension bolt (30) to between 26 and 22 lbf.ft (3.53 and 2.98 m.daN ) T.
   (13) Lightly tap the outer edge of the QAD adapter ring (in no less than three locations at equal distance) with a DRIFT - BRASS or a MALLET - RUBBER.
   (14) Open the straps and remove the IDG (1) from the
98D71203015000 IDG R/I CRADLE (CFM). Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
   (15) Lower the 98D71203015000 IDG R/I CRADLE (CFM) and remove the 98D71203022000 ADAPTER-TROLLEY R/I IDG (PW AND CFM) from the work area. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
   (16) Do a check of the torque value of the QAD tension bolt (30). Do steps 12 and 13 again until the QAD tension bolt (30) torque value does not decrease more than 2 lbf.ft (0.27 m.daN).
   (17) Installation of the lockwire on the QAD tension bolt (30)
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Safety the QAD tension bolt (30) with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
   (18) Remove the protection covers and protection caps from the openings, tubes and hoses.
   (19) Installation of the overflow drain half-coupling (26) on the IDG (1)
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the overflow drain half-coupling (26) and the new AIPC 24-21-51-70-040 PACKING (28) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
     (b) Install the packing (28) in the groove of the overflow drain half-coupling (26).
     (c) Install the overflow drain half-coupling (26) in the correct position on the IDG (1).
     (d) Tighten the overflow drain half-coupling (26) with your hand.
     (e) TORQUE the overflow drain half-coupling (26) to between 34.5 and 31.6 m.N (25.44 and 23.30 lbf.ft ) T.
     (f) Install the blanking cap (27) on the overflow drain half-coupling (26).
   (20) Installation of the pressure fill half-coupling (23) on the IDG (1)
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the pressure fill half-coupling (23) and new
AIPC 24-21-51-70-010 PACKING (25) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
     (b) Install the packing (25) in the groove of the pressure fill half-coupling (23).
     (c) Install the pressure fill half-coupling (23) in the correct position on the IDG (1).
     (d) Tighten the pressure fill half-coupling (23) with your hand.
     (e) TORQUE the pressure fill half-coupling (23) to between 17.0 and 13.6 m.N (12.54 and 10.03 lbf.ft ) T.
     (f) Install the blanking cap (24) on the pressure fill half-coupling (23).
   (21) Installation of the oil-cooling drain (out) line (20) on the IDG (1)
     (a) Lubricate a new
AIPC 24-21-51-70-100 PACKING (36) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
       1 Install the packing (36) in the groove of the coupling (21).
       2 Install the coupling (21) in the correct port of the IDG (1).
       3 Tighten the coupling (21) with your hand.
       4 TORQUE the coupling (21) to between 39.6 and 33.9 m.N (29.20 and 25.00 lbf.ft ) T.
     (b) Lubricate the end fittings of the oil-cooling drain (out) line (20) and the threads of the coupling (21) with engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) .
     (c) Hold the coupling nut (22) and install the oil-cooling drain (out) line (20) in the coupling (21).
     (d) Tighten the coupling nut (22) with your hand.
     (e) TORQUE the coupling nut (22) to between 64.60 and 55.16 lbf.ft (8.76 and 7.48 m.daN ) T.
   (22) Installation of the oil-cooling supply (in) line (17) on the IDG (1)
     (a) Lubricate a new
AIPC 24-21-51-70-080 PACKING (35) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
       1 Install the packing (35) in the groove of the coupling (18).
       2 Install the coupling (18) in the port of the IDG (1).
       3 Tighten the coupling (18) with your hand.
       4 TORQUE the coupling (18) to between 42.8 and 36.2 m.N (31.56 and 26.70 lbf.ft ) T.
     (b) Lubricate the end fittings of the oil-cooling supply (in) line (17) and the threads of the coupling (18) with engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) .
     (c) Hold the coupling nut (19) and install the oil-cooling supply (in) line (17) in the coupling (18).
     (d) Tighten the coupling nut (19) of the oil-cooling supply (in) line (17) with your hand.
     (e) TORQUE the coupling nut (19) to between 93.15 and 78.18 lbf.ft (12.63 and 10.60 m.daN ) T.
   (23) Installation of the phase cables (13) on the IDG (1)
     (a) Removal of the cover (11)
       1 Remove the screws (10), the two washers and the cover (11).
       2 Remove the four captive washer nuts (14) from the terminal studs of the terminal block (12).
     (b) Remove the tie wraps from the four phase cables (13).
     (c) Install the phase cables (13) in the correct position on the terminal block (16).
     (d) Install the phase cables (13) in the correct position on the terminal block (12).
     (e) Install the four captive washer nuts (14) and attach the four phase cables (13) to the terminal block (12).
     (f) TORQUE the four captive washer nuts (14) to between 14.00 and 12.00 lbf.ft (1.90 and 1.63 m.daN )
T.
     (g) Put the terminal block (16) in its correct position on the bracket (5).
     (h) Install the two bolts (15) and attach the terminal block (16) to the bracket (5) and tighten them with your hand.
     (i) TORQUE the two bolts (15) to between 10.34 and 8.84 lbf.ft (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
T.
     (j) Put the cover (11) in its correct position on the terminal block (12).
     (k) Install the two screws (10) and the two washers and attach the cover (11) to the terminal block (12).
     (l) TORQUE the two screws (10) to between 22 and 20 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.23 m.daN )
T.
   (24) Connection of the electrical harnesses to the IDG (1)
     (a) Remove the tie wraps from electrical harness connectors 1 (2), 2 (6) and 3 (9).
     (b) Remove the blanking caps from the connectors of the IDG (1) and electrical harness connectors 1 (2), 2 (6) and 3 (9).
     (c) Connect electrical harness connector 3 (9) to the IDG (1).
     (d) Connection of electrical harness connector 2 (6):
       1 Lubricate the thread of the bolt (7) with engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) .
       2 Put the clamp (8) and the electrical harness in their correct position on the bracket (5).
       3 Install the bolt (7) and attach the clamp (8) to the bracket (5) and tighten it with your hand.
       4 TORQUE the bolt (7) to between 3.17 and 2.65 lbf.ft (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN ) T.
       5 Connect electrical harness connector 2 (6) to the IDG (1).
     (e) Connection of electrical harness connector 1 (2):
       1 Lubricate the thread of the bolt (3) with engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) .
       2 Put the clamp (4) and the electrical harness in their correct position on the bracket (5).
       3 Install the bolt (3) and attach the clamp (4) to the bracket (5) and tighten it with your hand.
       4 TORQUE the bolt (3) to between 3.17 and 2.65 lbf.ft (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN ) T.
       5 Connect electrical harness connector 1 (2) to the IDG (1).

D. Operational test of the IDG disconnect and reconnect (reset) function with the engine in operation (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-00-710-805).

E. Check of the Electrical Properties and Check for Oil Leaks
   (1) Start engines 1 and 2 at minimum idle (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-827).
   (2) Make sure that the IDG operates correctly:
     (a) Do the Electronic Instrument System (EIS) start procedure of the upper ECAM Display Unit (DU) and lower ECAM DU only (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
     (b) On the ECAM control panel, push the ELEC key to get the ELEC page on the lower ECAM DU:
  • Make sure that the voltage of the IDG is 115VAC.
  • Make sure that the frequency of the IDG is 400Hz plus or minus 5Hz.
     (c) If you removed the IDG after an IDG 1(2) disconnection, do a GCU 1(2) reset at the first engine start at idle:
  • Push then release the related ELEC/GEN pushbutton switch (the OFF legend goes off then comes on).
   (3) Do the switching test that follows:

  • Make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released.
On the overhead panel, on the APU section of control panel 25VU:
  • The ON legend of the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.
2.On the overhead panel, on the ELEC section of control panel 35VU:
  • Release the GEN1 pushbutton switch.
On the overhead panel, on the ELEC section of control panel 35VU:
  • The OFF legend of the GEN1 pushbutton switch comes on.
3.Wait for three minutes.


On the lower ECAM DU, on the ELEC page, there is a green line between:
  • The GEN2 and the AC2 busbar
  • The AC2 and AC1 busbars
  • The AC1 and AC ESS busbars.
4.On the overhead panel, on the ELEC section of control panel 35VU:
  • Push the GEN1 pushbutton switch.
On the overhead panel, on the ELEC section of control panel 35VU:
  • The OFF legend of the GEN1 pushbutton switch goes off.
5.On the overhead panel, on the ELEC section of control panel 35VU:
  • Release the GEN2 pushbutton switch.
On the overhead panel, on the ELEC section of control panel 35VU:
  • The OFF legend of the GEN2 pushbutton switch comes on.
6.Wait for three minutes.


On the lower ECAM DU, on the ELEC page, there is a green line between:
  • The GEN1 and the AC1 busbar

7.Start and operate the APU:
For the GTCP 36-300 (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86), or
for the APS 3200 (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86), or
for the 131-9(A) (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-008).
On the lower ECAM DU, on the ELEC page, there is a green line between:
  • The AC ESS and AC1 busbars
  • The APU GEN and the AC2 busbar.
    The parameters that follow appear:
  • The AC LOAD percentage is shown in green.
  • AC V = 115 + or - 5V
  • FRQ HZ = 400 + or - 10HZ.
8.On the overhead panel, on the ELEC section of control panel 35VU:
  • Push the GEN2 pushbutton switch.
On the overhead panel, on the ELEC section of control panel 35VU:
  • The OFF legend of the GEN2 pushbutton switch goes off.
   (4) Stop engines 1 and 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-829).
   (5) On the overhead panel, on the ELEC section of control panel 35VU:
     (a) Make sure that the EXT PWR pushbutton switch is pushed (the OFF legend is off).
   (6) Stop the APU:
For the GTCP 36-300 (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86), or
for the APS 3200 (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86), or
for the 131-9(A) (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
   (7) Make sure that there are no oil leaks.
   (8) Do a check of the oil level at the sight glass of the IDG (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-00-210-808).
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
