A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Prepare the media.
   (1) Get the media from the storage box in the cockpit.
   (2) Make sure that the Part Number(s) (P/N) written on the media is(are) the same as the P/N(s) written in the airline configuration-management document.
   (3) If the media is(are) not available or not the correct one(s), contact your airline engineering department to get the correct P/N(s) applicable to the aircraft.

B. Prepare the software.
   (1) Make sure that the Part Number(s) (P/N) of the software is the same as the P/N(s) written in the airline configuration-management document.
   (2) If the software is not available or not the correct one(s), contact your airline engineering department to get the correct P/N(s) applicable to the aircraft.

C. Installation of the Portable Data Loader (PDL)
   (1) On the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER, make sure that the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position.
   (2) On the center pedestal, on DATA LOADING panel 117VU:
  • Connect the cable to the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER and to the data loader connector on the front face of the Data Loading Selector Unit (DLSU) (103TD).

   (1) Start the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER (refer to the PDL user guide).

F. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the ground configuration:

1.On the ECAM control panel:
  • Push the BLEED key to get access to the "BLEED" page.
On the lower ECAM Display Unit (DU):
  • The "BLEED" page comes into view.
  • The white "GND" indication comes into view in the middle of the page.
   (2) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-864-001).

G. Check of the P/N(s) of the Software Component(s) Uploaded to the FMGC
   (1) Get access to the "SYSTEM REPORT/TEST" menu page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-001).
ACTION
RESULT
1.Push the line select key adjacent to the "AFS" indication.
  • The "AFS MAIN MENU" page comes into view.
2.Push the line select key adjacent to the "LRU IDENTIFICATION" indication.
  • The "LRU IDENTIFICATION" page comes into view.
3.Make sure that the FMGC P/N(s) on the "LRU IDENTIFICATION" page is(are) of the "C1320XXXXX" type.

4.Do a check of:
A.The three digits that follow ”C1320” of the FMGC P/N(s) shown on the "LRU IDENTIFICATION" page, and
B.The LRU IDENT P/N(s) written on the media.
  • If the three digits are the same, continue the procedure.
  • If one digit is different (the FMGC and the media is(are) not compatible), stop the procedure and contact the airline engineering department to get the correct P/N(s) applicable to the aircraft.

5.Do a check of:
A.The last two digits of the FMGC P/N(s) shown on the "LRU IDENTIFICATION" page, and
B.The LRU IDENT P/N(s) written on the media.
  • If the last two digits are different, continue the procedure.
  • If the last two digits are the same (the software component(s) is(are) uploaded), the uploading is not necessary.

G. Check of the P/N(s) of the Software Component(s) Uploaded to the FMGC
   (1) Get access to the "SYSTEM REPORT/TEST" menu page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-001).
ACTION
RESULT
1.Push the line select key adjacent to the "AFS" indication.
  • The "AFS MAIN MENU" page comes into view.
2.Push the line select key adjacent to the "LRU IDENTIFICATION" indication.
  • The "LRU IDENTIFICATION" page comes into view.
3.Make sure that the FMGC P/N(s) on the "LRU IDENTIFICATION" page is(are) of the "C1320XXXXX" type.

4.Do a check of:
A.The three digits that follow ”C1320” of the FMGC P/N(s) shown on the "LRU IDENTIFICATION" page, and
B.The P/N(s) of the software.
  • If the three digits are the same, continue the procedure.

A. Uploading of the FG Software Component
   (1) Make sure that the Data Loading Selector (DLS) is set to the FG1 or FG2 position.
   (2) Upload the FG software component (Ref. AMM TASK 31-38-00-610-804).
Subtask 22-83-00-970-051-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Uploading of the FG Software Component
NOTE: It is possible to upload the FG software component with the low or high speed dataloading.
   (1) Make sure that the Data Loading Selector Unit (DLSU) is set to the FG1 or FG2 position.
   (2) Upload the FG software component (Ref. AMM TASK 31-38-00-610-804).

B. Do two checks of the P/N(s) of the FG software component(s) uploaded to the FMGC.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE SOFTWARE INSTALLED AGREES WITH THE AIRLINE CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT DOCUMENT. THE SYSTEM OPERATIONAL TEST OR BITE TEST DOES NOT DETECT INCORRECT SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION.
   (1) Do a check of the P/N(s) of the FG software component(s) uploaded to the FMGC on the "LRU IDENTIFICATION" page.
     (a) Get access to the "SYSTEM REPORT/TEST" menu page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-001).
ACTION
RESULT
1.Close circuit breaker 10CA1(2).

2.Make sure that:
  • FMGC1(2) is on.
  • No ECAM message related to FMGC1(2) is shown.
  • The "1FD2" indication is shown on the Flight Mode Annunciator (FMA).

3.On the Multipurpose Control & Display Unit (MCDU):
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the "AFS" indication.
On the MCDU:
  • The "AFS MAIN MENU" page comes into view.
4.Push the line select key adjacent to the "LRU IDENTIFICATION" indication.
  • The "LRU IDENTIFICATION" page comes into view.
  • The P/N(s) shown on this page is(are) the P/N(s) of the FG software component(s).
5.Make sure that the P/N(s) of the FMGC shown on the "LRU IDENTIFICATION" page is(are) the same as the LRU IDENT P/N(s) written on the media.

6.Push the MCDU MENU mode key.
  • The "MCDU MENU" page comes into view.
   (2) Do a check of the P/N(s) of the FG software component(s) uploaded to the FMGC with the avionics configuration report:

1.On the MCDU:
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the "CFDS" indication.
On the MCDU:
  • The "CFDS MENU" page comes into view.
  • Push the NEXT key.
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the "AVIONICS CONFIG REPORT" indication.
  • Enter 22 (the applicable ATA number) in the scratchpad.
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the "START" indication.
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the FMGC.

2.Make sure that the P/N(s) of the FMGC shown on the "LRU IDENTIFICATION" page is(are) the same as the LRU IDENT P/N(s) written on the media.
The P/N(s) shown on this page is(are) the P/N(s) of the FG software component(s).

B. Do two checks of the P/N(s) of the FG software component(s) uploaded to the FMGC.

   (1) Do the operational test of the AFS only after the uploading of the FG software component (Ref. AMM TASK 22-96-00-710-001).

D. Stop the PDL.
   (1) Stop the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER (refer to PDL user guide).

E. Removal of the PDL
   (1) On the center pedestal, on DATA LOADING panel 117VU:
  • Disconnect the cable from the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER and from the data loader connector on the front face of the DLSU (103TD).
5. Close-up
Subtask 22-83-00-860-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) On the MCDU, push the MCDU MENU key to get access to the "MCDU MENU" page.
   (2) Fully decrease the brightness of the MCDU screen (display off).
   (3) If there is(are) media in the storage box, remove it(them). Then put the new media in the storage box.

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) On the MCDU, push the MCDU MENU key to get access to the "MCDU MENU" page.
   (2) Fully decrease the brightness of the MCDU screen (display off).
