A. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THE DEACTIVATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS PROCEDURE, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED OPERATION AND THUS OF INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
Subtask 05-24-30-010-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the zones 437 and 447.
   (2) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open:
437AL 438AR,
447AL 448AR (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THE DEACTIVATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS PROCEDURE, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED OPERATION AND THUS OF INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Deactivate the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).

D. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the zones 437 and 447.
   (2) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open:
437AL 438AR,
447AL 448AR (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010).

E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THE DEACTIVATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS PROCEDURE, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED OPERATION AND THUS OF INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Deactivate the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

F. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at zone 437 (447).
   (2) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
437AL 438AR 447AL and 448AR.
4. Procedure
Subtask 05-24-30-210-052-A
A. Do a general visual inspection of the fan cowl.
Make sure that:
  • There is no damage (corrosion, leaks or cracks) on all the parts of the components and the structure you can see.
  • All the installations (wiring) are correctly attached.
5. Close-up
Subtask 05-24-30-440-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Reactivation of the Thrust Reverser
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser is serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-081-041).
Subtask 05-24-30-410-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are closed:
437AL 438AR,
447AL 448AR (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040).
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 05-24-30-440-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Reactivation of the Thrust Reverser
   (1) Activate the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) after ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-012).

D. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are closed:
437AL 438AR,
447AL 448AR (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010).
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).

E. Reactivation of the Thrust Reverser
   (1) Do the activation of the thrust reverser system after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-805).

F. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are closed (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
437AL 438AR 447AL and 448AR.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
