A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring and to stop the electrical supply to the Electronic Engine Control (EEC)
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-832).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

   (2) Make sure that the STEPLADDER 0.5 M (1.6 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 79-11-03-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Oil Tank Deaerator
   (1) Removal of the protection covers
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2)      (a) Apply the P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine on a new EIPC 79-11-01-01-145 PACKING (4).
     (b) Install the packing (4) in the deaerator (3) groove.
     (c) Make sure that the packing (4) is correctly installed in the deaerator (3) groove.
     (d) Install the deaerator (3) on the main oil tank.
     (e) Apply the P06-054compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the four bolts (1).
       1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
     (f) Install the deaerator (3) on the oil tank with the four bolts (1) and the four washers (2) fingertight.
     (g) TORQUE the four bolts (1) to between 95 and 78 lbf.in (1.07 and 0.88 m.daN )
T.
   (3)
     (a) Apply the P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine to a new EIPC 79-11-01-01-143 PACKING (15).
     (b) Install the packing (15) on the vent valve (14) groove.
     (c) Make sure that the packing (15) is correctly installed in the vent valve (14) groove.
     (d) Align the vent valve (14) tab with the deaerator (3) slot and push the vent valve (14) into the deaerator until it stops.
   (4)
     (a)        1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
     (b)      (c) Install the packing (51) on the deaerator vent valve groove.
     (d)      (e) TORQUE the three bolts (37) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN ) T in small increments and until the same torque indication holds.
     (f) Install the tube (LB03) (25) on the fan case and two brackets with the two clamps (26) and four bolts (27) fingertight.
     (g) Install the tube (LB03) (25) and bracket (50) on the deaerator with the three bolts (49).
     (h) TORQUE the three bolts (49) to between 90 and 80 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.90 m.daN )
T equally in an opposite pattern until the same torque indication holds.
     (i)
     (j)      (k) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.

B. Install the Oil-Debris Monitoring (ODM) sensor (Ref. AMM TASK 79-35-21-400-801).

C. Fill the engine with oil (Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-610-801).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (5) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence
(Ref. AMM TASK 73-25-34-400-802).
