A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring and to stop the electrical supply to the Electronic Engine Control (EEC)
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-832).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 79-35-21-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the ODM Sensor
   (1) Removal of the protection covers:
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Install the ODM sensor (1) on the oil-tank inlet housing
     (a) Apply engine oil (Material No.P03-001) on the new EIPC 79-35-21-01-080 PACKING (5).
     (b) Install the packing (5) on the ODM sensor (1) packing groove.
     (c) Apply engine oil (Material No.
P03-001) on the threads of the three bolts (2).
NOTE: For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
     (d) Bend the tube (LR03) away from the oil-tank inlet housing.
     (e) Install the ODM sensor (1) into the oil-tank inlet housing.
     (f) Install the new EIPC 79-35-21-01-090 FACE SEAL (4) between the ODM sensor (1) and the tube (LR03) flange:
       1 Examine current face seal to see if it can be used again by the procedure that follows:
         a No raised material on the metal surface.
         b Rubber that is not bonded to the metal surface is not permitted.
         c Rubber that is missing is not permitted.
         d Examine rubber seal for separation from the metal surface.
         e Rubber that is cut or damaged is not permitted.
         f Make sure that the rubber material is above the metal surface.
         g Replace the
EIPC 79-35-21-01-090 FACE SEAL (4) if necessary.
     (g) Attach the bracket (3) and tube (LR03) to the housing with the three bolts (2).
     (h)
NOTE: For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
     (i) Install the two clamps (15) and the tube (LR03) on the two brackets with the four bolts (16).
     (j) TORQUE the three bolts (2) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN ) T equally in an opposite pattern until the same torque indication holds
     (k) TORQUE the four bolts (16) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN ) T
   (3) Connect the W03 harness (4087KS) connector P36 to the sensor receptacle J36 as follows
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND RECEPTACLE ARE CLEAN WHEN YOU CONNECT THEM. DIRTY CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Examine, align and engage the connector.
     (b) Push lightly inward on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
     (c) Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT and tighten the connector against the receptacle.
     (d) Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
     (e) While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
     (f) Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
   (4) Install the W03 harness (4087KS) to the spring clip on the bracket (3).
   (5) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
447AL, 448AR.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence
(Ref. AMM TASK 73-25-34-400-802).

B. Test
   (1) Do the test N°3 - Idle power test (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-720-811).
   (2) Do the test N°6 - FADEC system idle test (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-00-710-807).
