A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 79-00-00-010-102-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

Subtask 79-00-00-210-100-A
A. Visual Inspection of the Oil System (Fan Cowls and Thrust Reversers Closed)
(1) Do the visual inspection of the fan blades (1), stage 1 booster vanes (2) and front spinner (3) as follows:
(a) Do the visual inspection of the fan blades (1) and the stage 1 booster vanes (2) at the 6 o'clock position.
1 If they are wet with oil, replace the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-000-803) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-400-803).
(b) Do the visual inspection of the front spinner (3).
1 If it is wet with oil, look for possible indications to the front spinner (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-40-210-801).
(2) Do the visual inspection of the drain mast as follows:
(a) Do the visual inspection of fan drain mast (4) and the core drain mast (5).
(b) If there is an oil leakage from the drain tubes of the starter pad, Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) pad, fuel pump pad and hydraulic pump pad, do a leak check of the Accessory Gearbox (AGB) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-790-809).
(c) If there is an oil leakage from the cap assembly drain tube (8), do the visual inspection of the oil-tank filler cap (9) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-11-05-210-801).
(3) Do the visual inspection of the bottom of the cowls:
(a) Do the visual inspection of the left fan-cowl panel (6), left fan-cowl forward and aft drain holes, right fan-cowl panel (7), right fan-cowl forward and aft drain holes and starter air discharge-duct.
(4) Do the visual inspection of the Low Pressure Turbine (LPT) stage 7 blades (10) and the Turbine Rear Frame (TRF) strut (11) at the bottom of the exhaust nozzle (12).
(a) If there is an oil leakage, do the visual inspection of the LPT oil supply and scavenge tubes (Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-210-815).
(5) Do the visual inspection of the exhaust nozzle (12), aft sump area and the front plug assembly (13), front-plug-assembly forward drain-hole (14), front-plug-assembly aft drain-hole (15), rear plug assembly (16), rear-plug-assembly forward drain-hole (17) and rear-plug-assembly aft drain-hole (18) of the exhaust plug.
1 Remove the exhaust nozzle (12) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-12-40-000-801).
2 Remove the rear and front exhaust nozzle plug (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-41-000-803) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-40-000-801).
3 Do a visual inspection of the oil system with the fan cowls and thrust reversers opened (Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-210-814).
4 Install the rear and front exhaust nozzle plug (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-41-400-803) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-40-400-801).
5 Install the exhaust nozzle (12) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-12-40-400-801).
5. Close-up(1) Do the visual inspection of the fan blades (1), stage 1 booster vanes (2) and front spinner (3) as follows:
(a) Do the visual inspection of the fan blades (1) and the stage 1 booster vanes (2) at the 6 o'clock position.
1 If they are wet with oil, replace the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-000-803) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-400-803).
(b) Do the visual inspection of the front spinner (3).
1 If it is wet with oil, look for possible indications to the front spinner (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-40-210-801).
(2) Do the visual inspection of the drain mast as follows:
(a) Do the visual inspection of fan drain mast (4) and the core drain mast (5).
(b) If there is an oil leakage from the drain tubes of the starter pad, Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) pad, fuel pump pad and hydraulic pump pad, do a leak check of the Accessory Gearbox (AGB) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-790-809).
(c) If there is an oil leakage from the cap assembly drain tube (8), do the visual inspection of the oil-tank filler cap (9) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-11-05-210-801).
(3) Do the visual inspection of the bottom of the cowls:
(a) Do the visual inspection of the left fan-cowl panel (6), left fan-cowl forward and aft drain holes, right fan-cowl panel (7), right fan-cowl forward and aft drain holes and starter air discharge-duct.
(4) Do the visual inspection of the Low Pressure Turbine (LPT) stage 7 blades (10) and the Turbine Rear Frame (TRF) strut (11) at the bottom of the exhaust nozzle (12).
(a) If there is an oil leakage, do the visual inspection of the LPT oil supply and scavenge tubes (Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-210-815).
(5) Do the visual inspection of the exhaust nozzle (12), aft sump area and the front plug assembly (13), front-plug-assembly forward drain-hole (14), front-plug-assembly aft drain-hole (15), rear plug assembly (16), rear-plug-assembly forward drain-hole (17) and rear-plug-assembly aft drain-hole (18) of the exhaust plug.
NOTE: Oil puddling on the aft sump-area cover, lower area of the exhaust plug and the core exhaust nozzle (12) are considered as usual while the oil consumption rate and the leakage rate from the aft sump flooding-drain are within the serviceable limits (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-790-805).
(a) If the oil consumption rate and the oil leakage rate are more than the serviceable limits, do the tasks as follows: 1 Remove the exhaust nozzle (12) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-12-40-000-801).
2 Remove the rear and front exhaust nozzle plug (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-41-000-803) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-40-000-801).
3 Do a visual inspection of the oil system with the fan cowls and thrust reversers opened (Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-210-814).
4 Install the rear and front exhaust nozzle plug (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-41-400-803) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-40-400-801).
5 Install the exhaust nozzle (12) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-12-40-400-801).
