A. Installation of the Protection
(1) Make sure that the 98N7810H004-000 EXHAUST SHOCK ABSORBER is installed on the lower area of the exhaust nozzle.
(2) Make sure that the 98N7810H005-000 FORWARD PLUG PROTECTION RUG is installed inside the front plug duct lower area.
Subtask 78-11-40-420-051-A (1) Make sure that the 98N7810H004-000 EXHAUST SHOCK ABSORBER is installed on the lower area of the exhaust nozzle.
(2) Make sure that the 98N7810H005-000 FORWARD PLUG PROTECTION RUG is installed inside the front plug duct lower area.
B. Installation of the Exhaust Front Plug
(2) Do a check for the maximum locking torque for each captive nut (4):
(a) Turn the bolt (2) with your hand until the self-locking device is engaged.
(b) Turn the fastener until the self-locking device is fully engaged.
(c) Use a WRENCH - TORQUE, DIAL TYPE to measure the maximum locking torque value of the bolt (2).
(3) Do a check for the minimum locking torque for each captive nut (4):
(a) Use a WRENCH - TORQUE, DIAL TYPE to loosen the bolt (2).
(4) Clean the fasteners with a textile - lint free cotton (Material No.CPNCL02069) made moist with Diestone DLS (Material No.CPNCL02589) .
(5) Remove the exhaust front plug (1) from the 98N7810H001-000 EXHAUST DOLLY.
(6) Put the exhaust front plug in position.
(7) Apply 03PBD1 or never-seez pure nickel special (Material No.CPNCL00378) on the threads and the mating surface of each bolt (2).
(a) Install the washers (3) and the bolts (2) at bolt positions 8, 23, 30 and 15.
(b) TORQUE the bolts (2) at bolt positions 8, 23, 30 and 15 to between 3.26 and 2.86 m.daN (24.04 and 21.09 lbf.ft )
in a clockwise direction.
(d) TORQUE the remaining bolts (2) to between 3.26 and 2.86 m.daN (24.04 and 21.09 lbf.ft )
.
(e) Loosen and TORQUE each bolt (2) to between 3.26 and 2.86 m.daN (24.04 and 21.09 lbf.ft )
.
(9) Remove the 98N7810H004-000 EXHAUST SHOCK ABSORBER and the 98N7810H005-000 FORWARD PLUG PROTECTION RUG.
5. Close-upWARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE EXHAUST FRONT PLUG CANNOT FALL AFTER THE REMOVAL OF ALL THE FASTENERS. THE EXHAUST FRONT PLUG WEIGHS 18 KG (39.68 LB).
WARNING:
TWO MECHANICS ARE NECESSARY TO REMOVE AND INSTALL THE EXHAUST FRONT PLUG. ONE MUST HOLD THE END OF THE EXHAUST FRONT PLUG ASSEMBLY WHILE THE OTHER MUST REMOVE OR INSTALL THE BOLTS AND WASHERS. THE EXHAUST FRONT PLUG ASSEMBLY WEIGHS 18KG (39.68 LBS).
(1) Clean the engine and the exhaust front plug flanges area with a textile - lint free cotton (Material No.CPNCL02069) made moist with Diestone DLS (Material No.CPNCL02589) . (2) Do a check for the maximum locking torque for each captive nut (4):
(a) Turn the bolt (2) with your hand until the self-locking device is engaged.
