Subtask 78-32-46-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-32-46-040-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

B. Make sure that the Thrust Reversers are deactivated
Subtask 78-32-46-010-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) is deactivated (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). C. Make sure the thrust reverser halves are open to a minimum distance, so that the latches will not touch each other when the translating cowl is installed (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010).
Subtask 78-32-46-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL D. Install the five blocker doors and drag links on the translating cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-42-400-010) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-45-400-010).
4. ProcedureSubtask 78-32-46-480-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Attach the left translating cowl handling tool (2), IAE1N20011 HANDLING TOOL-LH to the translating cowl (1) at the three hoist fittings.

Subtask 78-32-46-080-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THE THRUST REVERSER HALVES ARE OPEN TO A MINIMUM DISTANCE, SO THAT THE TRANSLATING SLEEVE LATCHES WILL NOT TOUCH WHEN THE TRANSLATING COWL IS INSTALLED.
(1) Align the translating cowl sliders with the C-duct tracks. Carefully move the translating cowl forward until it touches the forward edge of the C-duct. C. Remove the left translating cowl handling tool (2), IAE1N20011 HANDLING TOOL-LH from the translating cowl (1).
Subtask 78-32-46-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL D. Attach the ends of the locking and non locking actuators to the translating cowl brackets (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-43-400-010) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-48-400-010).
(1) Remove the tape from the locking and non locking actuator rod ends. Do not let the actuator rod ends turn.
(2) Install the bolts and bushings that attach the ends of the locking and non locking actuators to the translating cowl brackets.
(3) TORQUE the rod end retaining bolts to between 80 and 60 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.68 m.daN )

Subtask 78-32-46-410-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the tape from the locking and non locking actuator rod ends. Do not let the actuator rod ends turn.

(3) TORQUE the rod end retaining bolts to between 80 and 60 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.68 m.daN )
. E. Install the two actuator access panels 451BL, 451CL, 452BR, 452CR (461BL, 461CL, 462BR, 462CR) on the outer side of the translating cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-43-400-010) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-48-400-010).
