A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
Subtask 78-32-44-010-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

A. Install the crossover hydraulic hose (33)
(1) Remove the caps from the ends of the crossover hydraulic hose (33), from the upper hydraulic port on the non-locking actuator (3) and from the tee fitting (31).
(2) Install the union (34) in the tee fitting (31).
(3) TORQUE the union (34) to between 300 and 270 lbf.in (3.39 and 3.05 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(4) Connect the hose nuts (32) to the non-locking actuator (3) and the union (34).
(5) Put the clamp assembly (40) in position over the crossover hydraulic hose (33) and Install the two screws (41).
(6) TORQUE the hose nuts (32) to between 240 and 210 lbf.in (2.71 and 2.37 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
Subtask 78-32-44-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the caps from the ends of the crossover hydraulic hose (33), from the upper hydraulic port on the non-locking actuator (3) and from the tee fitting (31).
(2) Install the union (34) in the tee fitting (31).
(3) TORQUE the union (34) to between 300 and 270 lbf.in (3.39 and 3.05 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (4) Connect the hose nuts (32) to the non-locking actuator (3) and the union (34).
(5) Put the clamp assembly (40) in position over the crossover hydraulic hose (33) and Install the two screws (41).
(6) TORQUE the hose nuts (32) to between 240 and 210 lbf.in (2.71 and 2.37 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). B. Install the crossover flexshaft and the crossover flexshaft/hose
(1) Remove the caps from both ends of the crossover flexshaft/hose (18) and the openings on the non-locking actuator (3) and the tee fitting (31).
(2) Put one end of the crossover flexshaft (42) through the belt clamp (35) and in to the tee fitting (31).
(3) Push the crossover flexshaft (42) through the right crossover flexshaft/hose and into the socket in the right non-locking actuator.
(4) Put the crossover flexshaft/hose (18) on to the crossover flexshaft (42).
(5) Make sure that both the left and the right non-locking actuators are in the fully stowed position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-011).
(6) Put the crossover flexshaft
(7) Connect the two hose nuts (32) to the tee fitting (31) and the non-locking actuator (3).
(8) TORQUE the hose nut (32) to between 936 and 852 lbf.in (10.58 and 9.63 m.daN )
at the non-locking actuator (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(9) TORQUE the hose nut (32) to between 679 and 619 lbf.in (7.67 and 6.99 m.daN )
at the tee fitting (31) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(10) Install the bracket.
Subtask 78-32-44-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the caps from both ends of the crossover flexshaft/hose (18) and the openings on the non-locking actuator (3) and the tee fitting (31).
(2) Put one end of the crossover flexshaft (42) through the belt clamp (35) and in to the tee fitting (31).
(3) Push the crossover flexshaft (42) through the right crossover flexshaft/hose and into the socket in the right non-locking actuator.
(4) Put the crossover flexshaft/hose (18) on to the crossover flexshaft (42).
(5) Make sure that both the left and the right non-locking actuators are in the fully stowed position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-011).
(6) Put the crossover flexshaft
CAUTION:
DO NOT TURN THE FLEXSHAFT MORE THAN ONE-EIGHTH TURN WHILE ONE END IS ENGAGED.
(a) Put the crossover flexshaft (42) in to the socket of the left non-locking actuator (3). (7) Connect the two hose nuts (32) to the tee fitting (31) and the non-locking actuator (3).
(8) TORQUE the hose nut (32) to between 936 and 852 lbf.in (10.58 and 9.63 m.daN )
at the non-locking actuator (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (9) TORQUE the hose nut (32) to between 679 and 619 lbf.in (7.67 and 6.99 m.daN )
at the tee fitting (31) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (10) Install the bracket.
CAUTION:
IF THE CLAMP IS NOT ATTACHED CORRECTLY, IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CROSSOVER FLEXSHAFT HOSE.
(a) Install the bracket (43), two clamps (36), the screw (39), the washer (37) and the nut (38). NOTE: Make sure that the clamp is attached the same position and angle as it was first installed.
C. Install the lower flexshaft/tube
(1) Remove the caps from both ends of the lower flexshaft/tube (5), the lower flexshaft/tube port of the non-locking actuator (3) and the lower flexshaft/tube port of the locking actuator (6).
(2) Install the lower flexshaft/tube with the telescoping end fitting at the bottom.
(3) Connect the tube nut (20) to the non-locking actuator (3). Do not tighten the tube nut (20) at this step.
(4) Put the flexshaft (19) in to the bottom of the lower flexshaft/tube (5) and push it in to the socket of the non-locking actuator (3).
(5) Make sure that the locking and the non-locking actuators are in the fully stowed position.
(6) Pull tube nut.
(7) Pull the telescoping end fitting tube nut down and engage the locknut (21).
(8) TORQUE the locknut (21) to between 265 and 220 lbf.in (2.99 and 2.49 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(9) Connect the tube nut (20) to the locking actuator (6).
(10) TORQUE the tube nuts (20) at both ends of the lower flexshaft/tube (5) to between 936 and 852 lbf.in (10.58 and 9.63 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
Subtask 78-32-44-420-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the caps from both ends of the lower flexshaft/tube (5), the lower flexshaft/tube port of the non-locking actuator (3) and the lower flexshaft/tube port of the locking actuator (6).
(2) Install the lower flexshaft/tube with the telescoping end fitting at the bottom.
(3) Connect the tube nut (20) to the non-locking actuator (3). Do not tighten the tube nut (20) at this step.
(4) Put the flexshaft (19) in to the bottom of the lower flexshaft/tube (5) and push it in to the socket of the non-locking actuator (3).
(5) Make sure that the locking and the non-locking actuators are in the fully stowed position.
(6) Pull tube nut.
CAUTION:
DO NOT TURN THE FLEXSHAFT MORE THAN ONE-EIGHTH TURN WHILE ONE END IS ENGAGED.
(a) Pull the telescoping end fitting tube nut (20) up and insert the flexshaft (19) in to the socket of the locking actuator (6). (7) Pull the telescoping end fitting tube nut down and engage the locknut (21).
(8) TORQUE the locknut (21) to between 265 and 220 lbf.in (2.99 and 2.49 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (9) Connect the tube nut (20) to the locking actuator (6).
(10) TORQUE the tube nuts (20) at both ends of the lower flexshaft/tube (5) to between 936 and 852 lbf.in (10.58 and 9.63 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). D. Install the lower hydraulic tube
(1) Remove the caps from both ends of the lower hydraulic tube (4), the lower hydraulic tube port of the non-locking actuator (3) and the lower hydraulic tube port of the locking actuator (6).
(2) Connect the upper tube nut of the lower hydraulic tube (4) to the non-locking actuator (3).
(3) Connect the lower tube nut of the lower hydraulic tube (4) to the locking actuator (6).
(4) TORQUE both tube nuts of the lower hydraulic (4) to between 240 and 210 lbf.in (2.71 and 2.37 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(5) In three places between the locking and non-locking actuators, install the screws (8), the washers (2) and the clamps (7) which attach the lower flexshaft/tube (5) and the lower hydraulic tube (4) to the brackets.
Subtask 78-32-44-820-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 78-32-44-440-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 78-32-44-870-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the caps from both ends of the lower hydraulic tube (4), the lower hydraulic tube port of the non-locking actuator (3) and the lower hydraulic tube port of the locking actuator (6).
(2) Connect the upper tube nut of the lower hydraulic tube (4) to the non-locking actuator (3).
(3) Connect the lower tube nut of the lower hydraulic tube (4) to the locking actuator (6).
(4) TORQUE both tube nuts of the lower hydraulic (4) to between 240 and 210 lbf.in (2.71 and 2.37 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (5) In three places between the locking and non-locking actuators, install the screws (8), the washers (2) and the clamps (7) which attach the lower flexshaft/tube (5) and the lower hydraulic tube (4) to the brackets.
G. Bleed the air from the thrust reverser hydraulic actuation system

(3) Remove the lockout pins:
(4) Refill the green hydraulic reservoir for engine 1 (yellow hydraulic reservoir for engine 2) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
5. Close-upCAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT ALL CAUGHT AIR IS BLED FROM THE SYSTEM. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, CAUGHT AIR CAN CAUSE UNSATISFACTORY OPERATION OF THE TRANSLATING SLEEVES. TEN CYCLES OF TRANSLATING SLEEVE POWER EXTENSION AND RETRACTION WILL REMOVE ALL CAUGHT AIR FROM THE SYSTEM.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST MOVE THE LOCK LEVERS OF THE TWO LOCKING ACTUATORS AFT TO THE UNLOCKED POSITION BEFORE YOU BLEED THE SYSTEM. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, UNEVEN OPERATION OF THE TRANSLATING SLEEVES CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SYSTEM.
(1) Move the lock levers of the left and right locking actuators aft to the unlocked position and install the IAE1N20049 PIN - LOCKOUT ACTUATOR, to hold the lock levers in the unlocked position. (2) Operate the system:
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO PERSONS IN THE AREA AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO A POWER EXTENSION OR RETRACTION OF THE TRANSLATING SLEEVES. THE TRANSLATING SLEEVES EXTEND AND RETRACT IN 4.5 SECONDS OR LESS AND CAN CAUSE INJURY AND DAMAGE.
(a) Operate the system through ten cycles of translating sleeve power extension and retraction (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-041). (3) Remove the lockout pins:
CAUTION:
THE LOCKING ACTUATOR LOCK LEVERS MUST BE IN THE FORWARD LOCKED POSITION FOR FLIGHT OPERATION.
(a) Remove the lockout pins (IAE1N20049) from the lock levers of the left and right locking actuators and move the lock levers forward to the locked position. (4) Refill the green hydraulic reservoir for engine 1 (yellow hydraulic reservoir for engine 2) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
Subtask 78-32-44-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 78-32-44-790-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
B. Do a leak check of the left C-Duct flexible synchroneous cables and tubes. Leaks are not permitted.

(1) Do an operational test of the thrust reverser system (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-041).
