A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 78-32-19-010-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL 4. ProcedureWARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). Subtask 78-32-19-350-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Prepare the Damaged Area for Repair
(1) Clean the repair area with a lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) made moist withV01-076 Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade . Rub the surfaces dry before the cleaning solvent becomes dry.
(2) Do a penetrant inspection to find the ends of the crack.

B. Stop Drill the Ends of the Crack
(1) Drill a 0.140 in. to 0.160 in. (3.6 to 4.0 mm) hole at each end of the crack. Use MACHINE - DRILLING.
(2) Remove the burrs from the drilled holes.
(3) Use lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) made moist withV01-076 Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade . Rub the surfaces dry before the solvent becomes dry.

(1) Use manufacturer instructions to mix the primer converter (Material No.V07-140) , and the thinner (Material No.V07-139) . Let the primer mix stand for 30 minutes. (2) Apply the primer to the repair area.
(3) Cure the primer for two hours at 75 deg.F (24 deg.C) with an LIGHT SOURCE - HEAT, SPARK-PROOF.
NOTE: Full cure of the primer may be eliminated under repair conditions. The uncured primer is structurally and functionally acceptable.
D. Examine the Completed Repair
(1) Examine the completed repair to make sure all requirements of this repair procedure are done.
