(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 78-32-00-010-109-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Manually extend the thrust-reverser translating sleeves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802).
4. Procedure(1) Manually extend the thrust-reverser translating sleeves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802).

A. GVI of the Thrust Reverser Blocker Doors
(2) Visually examine the blocker doors.
(4) Look for loose or missing bolts, washers and nuts. If you find loose, missing or damaged hardware, replace the hardware (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-33-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-33-400-801).
5. Close-upCAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition. (2) Visually examine the blocker doors.
NOTE: This procedure is for the left thrust reverser blocker doors. The procedure for the right thrust reverser blocker doors is the same.
(3) Look for cracks, holes, punctures, gouges, corrosion and other damage. If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact UTAS for disposition. (4) Look for loose or missing bolts, washers and nuts. If you find loose, missing or damaged hardware, replace the hardware (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-33-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-33-400-801).

(2) Manually retract the thrust-reverser translating sleeves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802).
