A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

A. Disconnect the thrust reverser harness electrical connectors.

B. Do a visual inspection of the electrical connectors as follows :

1.Do the inspection of the electrical connector for:


A.Crossed thread
No crossed thread permitted
if there is crossed thread, replace the electrical harness (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-000-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-000-044) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-044)
B.Nick, dent in thread
The thread must not be completely removed by the nick or dent
If the thread is completely removed, replace the electrical harness . (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-000-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-000-044) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-044)
C.Broken pin
No broken pin permitted
If there is a broken pin, replace the electrical harness (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-000-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-000-044) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-044)
D.Bent pin
No bent pin permitted
if you find a bent pin, make it straight with connector tool.
E.Bend, cracked, or bulged connector
No defects permitted
If you find a defect, replace the electrical harness (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-000-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-000-044) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-044)
F.Dirt
No dirt permitted inside the connector
If the connector is dirty, clean it with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) or acetone (Material No.CP1039) or stoddard solvent (Material No.CP2011) or ardrox 552 (Material No.CP2559) or turco ind 79 (Material No.CP2560) or mag-chem teksol (Material No.CP2566) or degreasol 99 R (Material No.CP2584) or mag-chem skysol (Material No.CP2656) .

C. Connect the electrical connectors. Tighten the connectors with your hand, then tighten one-eighth turn more with PLIERS - NOSE, SOFT, LONG

No damage permitted
If you find some damage, replace the electrical harness (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-000-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-000-044) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-044)
2.Do the inspection of the switch connectors for:


A.Tightness
The blue mark of all the switch connectors must be covered by the blue mark of the electrical connector
If the blue mark of a switch connector can be seen, tighten the connector with the PLIERS - NOSE, SOFT, LONG.
3.Do the inspection of clamps for:


A.Missing or loose hardware
No missing clamps or loose hardware permitted
Replace missing hardware or clamps. Tighten loose clamp connections (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-044)
4.Do the inspection of the sheath of the electrical harness for:


A.Damage
No damage permitted
If you find some damage, replace electrical harness (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-000-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-000-044) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-043) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-42-400-044)
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the thrust reverser doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-040).
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

D. Do an operational test of the thrust reverser system from the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-042)
NOTE: As an alternative procedure, you can do this operational test without the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-043).
