A. Installation of the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) Proximity Sensor
   (1) Removal of the protection covers
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Install the two proximity sensors (1) (100EG) and (4) (101EG).
     (a) Put the proximity sensors (1) and (4) on the sensor bracket.
     (b)      (c) Install the two new AIPC 78-31-86-10-030 TAB WASHERS (2) on the proximity sensors (1) and (4).
     (d)
     (e) Apply the PU5-0007A-A-59313 anti-seize compound, zinc dust petrolatum the two lock nuts (3).
     (f) Install the two lock nuts (3) on the proximity sensors (1) and (4).
     (g) Hold the proximity sensors (1) and (4) in position with the A708405 PROX SENSOR R/I TOOL and TORQUE the lock nuts (3) to between 125 and 103 lbf.in (1.41 and 1.16 m.daN ) T.
     (h) Measure the distance between the proximity sensor spacer and the inhibit target. Make sure that the distance is between 0.867 in. (22.02 mm) and 0.0871 in. (2.21 mm).
     (i) Examine the position of the lock nuts (3) in relation to the tabs of the tab washers (2).
