F. Cleaning of the Exhaust Fire Seal and the Adjacent Structure
(1) Clean the exhaust fire seal, the attachment hardware and the adjacent structure with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) withPU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl or equivalent. Remove PU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before it dries.
4. Procedure(1) Clean the exhaust fire seal, the attachment hardware and the adjacent structure with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) with
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-11-01-220-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Detailed Visual Inspection of the Exhaust Fire Seal
(1) Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION, the MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X and the MIRROR - INSPECTION and examine the exhaust fire seal on the exhaust nozzle. Look for missing segments, cracks, gouges and holes. If you find damage, replace the exhaust fire seal (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-01-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-01-400-802).
(2) Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and the MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X and examine the bolts and washers that attach the exhaust fire seal to the exhaust nozzle. Look for corrosion, wear, cracks, gouges and missing hardware. If you find damage, replace the hardware (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-01-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-01-400-802).
(3) Make sure that the bolts and washers are correctly attached. Tighten or replace the part as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-01-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-01-400-802).
(4) Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and the MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X and examine the structure adjacent to the exhaust fire seal. Look for dents, cracks, gouges, corrosion or wear.
(a) If you find corrosion damage, repair or replace the damaged component parts SRM 512200 or contact United Technologies, Aerospace Systems West.
(b) If you find other damage, look for damage limits and corrective action SRM 544100 or contact United Technologies, Aerospace Systems West.
5. Close-up(1) Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION, the MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X and the MIRROR - INSPECTION and examine the exhaust fire seal on the exhaust nozzle. Look for missing segments, cracks, gouges and holes. If you find damage, replace the exhaust fire seal (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-01-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-01-400-802).
(2) Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and the MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X and examine the bolts and washers that attach the exhaust fire seal to the exhaust nozzle. Look for corrosion, wear, cracks, gouges and missing hardware. If you find damage, replace the hardware (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-01-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-11-01-400-802).
