WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 75-11-05-941-051-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809).

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the right thrust-reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 75-11-05-020-051-A
A. General
   (1) Remove all COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
Subtask 75-11-05-420-051-A
B. Installation of the Starter Bleed/Booster Anti-Ice Valve
   (1) Install the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1) as follows:
     (a) Install a new EIPC 75-11-00-10-050 SEAL (16) between the start bleed tube-duct (14) and the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1).
     (b) Install a new
EIPC 75-11-00-15-140 SEAL (13) between the booster anti-ice air tube (11) and the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1).

PRE SB 72-0190

     (c) Put the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1) in position on the bracket (7).
     (d) Apply engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) on the threads of the two bolts (17).
     (e) Install the two bolts (17) that attach the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1) to the bracket (7).
     (f) TORQUE the two bolts (17) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN ) T.
     (g) Connect the fuel manifold (9) B-nuts (2 locations) to the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1).
NOTE: The fuel manifold (9) is connected to the starter bleed/booster at two locations. There are two different size B-nuts on these two branches of the fuel manifold (9). Make sure that you tighten these two B-nuts to the correct torque.
       1 Triple torque the fuel manifold (9) small B-nut as follows:
         a TORQUE the fuel manifold (9) small B-nut to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
T.
         b Loosen the fuel manifold (9) small B-nut until it is free-running.
         c TORQUE the fuel manifold (9) small B-nut to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
T.
         d TORQUE the fuel manifold (9) small B-nut again to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
T.
       2 Triple torque the fuel manifold (9) large B-nut as follows:
         a TORQUE the fuel manifold (9) large B-nut to between 540 and 460 lbf.in (6.10 and 5.20 m.daN )
T.
         b Loosen the fuel manifold (9) large B-nut until it is free-running.
         c TORQUE the fuel manifold (9) large B-nut to between 540 and 460 lbf.in (6.10 and 5.20 m.daN )
T.
         d TORQUE the fuel manifold (9) large B-nut again to between 540 and 460 lbf.in (6.10 and 5.20 m.daN )
T.
     (h) Connect the drain tube (10) B-nut to the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1).
     (i) TORQUE the drain tube (10) B-nut to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
T.
     (j) Loosely install the coupling (15) that attaches the start bleed tube-duct (14) to the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1).
     (k) Loosely install the coupling (12) that attaches the booster anti-ice air tube (11) to starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1).

     (l) Hold the starter bleed/ booster anti-ice valve (1) in position above the start bleed tube-duct (14), and beside the booster anti-ice air tube (11).
     (m) Loosely install the coupling (15) that attaches the start bleed tube-duct (14) to the starter bleed/ booster anti-ice valve (1).
     (n) Loosely install the coupling (12) that attaches the booster anti-ice air tube (11) to starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1).
     (o) Connect the fuel tube (9) B-nut (two locations) to the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1).
NOTE: There are two different size B-nuts on these two tubes (9). Make sure that you tighten these two B-nuts to the correct torque.
       1 Triple torque the fuel tube (9) large B-nut as follows:
         a TORQUE the fuel tube (9) large B-nut to between 540 and 460 lbf.in (6.10 and 5.20 m.daN )
T.
         b Loosen the fuel tube (9) large B-nut until it is free-running.
         c TORQUE the fuel tube (9) large B-nut to between 540 and 460 lbf.in (6.10 and 5.20 m.daN )
T.
         d TORQUE the fuel tube (9) large B-nut again to between 540 and 460 lbf.in (6.10 and 5.20 m.daN )
T.
       2 Triple torque the fuel tube (9) small B-nut as follows:
         a TORQUE the fuel tube (9) small B-nut to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
T.
         b Loosen the fuel tube (9) small B-nut until it is free-running.
         c TORQUE the fuel tube (9) small B-nut to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
T.
         d TORQUE the fuel tube (9) small B-nut again to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )
T.
     (p) Connect the drain tube (10) B-nut to the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1).
     (q) TORQUE the drain tube (10) B-nut to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN )

   (2) Install the start bleed leg-air-duct (4) as follows:
     (a) Install a new
EIPC 75-11-05-01-040 SEAL (3) on the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1).
     (b) Put the start bleed leg-air-duct (4) in position on the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1).
     (c) Apply engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) on the threads of the two bolts (5).
     (d) Loosely install the coupling (2) that attaches the start bleed leg-air-duct (4) to the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1).
     (e) Install the two bolts (5) that attach the start bleed leg-air-duct (4) to the support bracket (6).
     (f) TORQUE the two bolts (5) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN ) T.
   (3) TORQUE the couplings and connect the electrical connectors as follows:
     (a) TORQUE the coupling (2) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )

     (b) TORQUE the coupling (15) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
T.
     (c) TORQUE the coupling (12) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
T.
     (d) Connect the electrical connector (8) to the starter bleed/booster anti-ice valve (1) (
Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
   (4) Installation of the safety cable
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Install CP8006safety cable 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. dia 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) on the two fuel manifold (9) B-nuts.
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-806):
