(2) Find the igniter plug (1) located approximately at the 3 o'clock position on the diffuser case.
(3)
1 Do not remove the inserts. Removal of the inserts requires reclassifying the igniter plug spacers
2 Make sure the diffuser case insert safety cable has been removed before the PWA211825 IGNITER ADAPTER is installed.
3 If the insert is loose:
a TORQUE the insert with the PWA212262 Igniter Insert Adapter to between 470 and 400 lbf.in (5.31 and 4.52 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 72-41-01-920-803).
4 If the insert is not usable, replace the insert and classified spacer (Ref. AMM TASK 72-41-01-920-803).
(b) Cleaning of the igniter plug (1):
1 For new or refurbished hardware, do not clean the igniter plug.
(4) Install the igniter plug (1) as follows:
(b) Attach the PWA211825 IGNITER ADAPTER body onto the diffuser case insert and put the WRENCH - STANDARD on the plug (1).
(c) Install a WRENCH - SOCKET to the PWA211825 IGNITER ADAPTER drive attachment.
(d) TORQUE the igniter plug (1) to between 350 and 300 lbf.in (3.96 and 3.39 m.daN )
.
(e) Safety the insert with safety cable (Material No.P05-291) and a safety cable ferrule (Material No.P05-292) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-813).
(5) Connect the ignition cable to the igniter plug (1) as follows:
(a) Look to see, if SB C-74-00-0001A has been incorporated before you perform the maintenance steps below.
.
3 Engage all of the spring clips to the ignition cable.
4 Do Step 4.A.(3) through Step 4.A.(5)(c)3_ again for the second igniter plug (1).
5. Close-upCAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(1) Remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Find the igniter plug (1) located approximately at the 3 o'clock position on the diffuser case.
(3)
NOTE: The igniter plugs are installed into the igniter boss inserts.
(a) If you cannot install the igniter plugs (1) with your hand, you can use the PWA24524 TAP THREAD CHASING - DIFFUSER CASE IGNITER BOSS to clean the threads: 1 Do not remove the inserts.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE A THREAD CHASING DIE ON THE IGNITER PLUG. THE THREADS ARE SILVER PLATED AND HAVE A TIGHT TOLERANCE TO MAKE SURE THE IGNITER PLUG FITS CORRECTLY. DO NOT CLEAN THE IGNITER PLUG THREADS TOO MUCH. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE IGNITER PLUG CAN OCCUR.
2 Clean the igniter plug (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 74-21-00-100-801). (4) Install the igniter plug (1) as follows:
CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND TO THE THREADS OF THE PLUG. ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND CAN CHANGE THE TORQUE AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INSERT.
(a) Install the igniter plug (1) on the diffuser case insert. (b) Attach the PWA211825 IGNITER ADAPTER body onto the diffuser case insert and put the WRENCH - STANDARD on the plug (1).

NOTE: This Service Bulletin changes the igniter to exciter plug cable routing at the igniter plug end so that the igniter plug (upper) will be connected to ignition system B and the igniter plug (lower) will be connected to ignition system A.
(b) If the Service Bulletin is used, the cables should be routed per the Service Bulletin. NOTE: The figures in this procedure show the pre Service Bulletin configuration.
(c) Installation of the cable on the igniter plug (1): CAUTION:
DO NOT BEND OR TWIST THE IGNITION CABLES. INSTALL THE CABLE ENDS STRAIGHT INTO THE IGNITER PLUG RECEPTACLES. IF NECESSARY, UNCLIP THE IGNTION CABLE FROM THE SPRING CLIPS TO REMOVE TENSION FROM THE CABLE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CABLE ENDS AND/OR IGNITER PLUG CERAMIC.
1 Install the cable on the igniter plug (1). CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE CABLE NUT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST THE PARTS OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
2 TORQUE the nut to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
