The EIU internal memory needs to be checked to know if the configuration considered by the EIU is the configuration of the aircraft.

A. Get Access
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch is in the OFF position.

4. Procedure
Subtask 73-25-34-280-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Check of the Configuration Stored in the Engine Interface Unit (EIU) Internal Memory
(1) Do a check of the EIU 1 internal configuration:

NOTE: The actions and the results of this procedure occur on the Multipurpose Control & Display Unit (MCDU) that you use.

(a) On the EIU 1 output bus:

1. On the center pedestal, on SWITCHING panel 8VU, make sure that the EIS DMC selector switch is set to NORM.
2. Get access to the parameter call-up menus, refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-740-008) and enter the parameter-label call-up command that follows:		On the MCDU:
07B/1/032/01	HPP ENG1	Start from the right side and make sure that the 7th bit is at 1.	1 = Engine 1 selected 0 = Engine 1 not selected.
07B/1/032/01	HPP ENG2	Start from the right side and make sure that the 8th bit is at 0.	1 = Engine 2 selected 0 = Engine 2 not selected.
07B/1/032/01	HPP CFM	Start from the right side and make sure that the 9th bit is at 0.	1 = CFM engines selected 0 = CFM engines not selected.
07B/1/032/01	HPP PW	Start from the right side and make sure that the 18th bit is at 1.	1 = PW engines selected 0 = PW engines not selected.

(b) If a failure occurs during the EIU 1 internal configuration-check, do the ground scanning of the EIU (Ref. AMM TASK 73-25-34-710-804) and do the troubleshooting of the failure.
(2) Do a check of the EIU 2 internal configuration:

NOTE: The actions and the results of this procedure occur on the MCDU that you use.

(a) On the EIU 2 output bus:

(b) If a failure occurs during the EIU 2 internal configuration-check, do the ground scanning of the EIU (Ref. AMM TASK 73-25-34-710-804) and do the troubleshooting of the failure.

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1) Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
