1. Reason for the Job
This procedure gives the visual inspection criteria for the outer Outlet Guide Vane (OGV) platforms.

NOTE: The inspection criteria below are applicable after removal of high composite.

NOTE: You can use equivalent alternatives for standard tools, equipment and consumable materials.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 72-24-11-941-052-A

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:

The ENG/MODE selector switch
The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.

(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809).

4. Procedure

A. Visual Inspection of the OGV Platforms
(1) Do the visual inspection of all the outer OGV platforms (1).

INSPECT/CHECK	MAXIMUM SERVICEABLE LIMITS	REMARKS
1.Cracks	Any amount.
2.Platform broken or missing	The break of the whole platform or a missing platform is permitted as follows: No more than 3 platforms are affected No more than 2 adjacent platforms are missing.	Continued in service limit: 3 consecutive missing platforms are permitted, the engine can continue in operation for 150 cycles. Continued in service limit: no more than 4 missing platforms are permitted, the engine can continue in operation for 150 cycles.
3.Erosion	Not serviceable.

(2) Visual inspection of the seals (2).

INSPECT/CHECK	MAXIMUM SERVICEABLE LIMITS	REMARKS
1.Cracks, crazings on the surfaces of the seal	Serviceable if the length of the torn seal deterioration is less than 30 percent of the seal length for each platform.
2.Missing seal	Serviceable if concomitant with the missing piece of the platform. Serviceable if it is less than 50 percent of the platform circumference and if it does not affect more than three platforms.

(3) Visual inspection of the bumpers (3).
