   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND ADJACENT COMPONENTS.
Subtask 72-21-01-400-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Fan Case Externals
   (1) Removal of the protection covers:
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Install the fan case externals as follows:
     (a) Install the bushing (2) on the fan case support-ring with the two bolts (1). See the sheet 1 of the figure:
     (b) TORQUE the two bolts (1) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN ) T.
     (c) Install the ground cable (WF52) (7) on the fan case as follows:
       1 Apply the P06-054compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the nut (6).
         a For the new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
       2 Apply the P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine (synthetic base) on the threads of the nut (8).
       3 Install the ground cable (WF52) (7) on the fan case support-ring with the bolt (5), washer (4) and nut (6). Tighten the nut (6) with your fingers.
       4 Install the ground cable (WF52) (7) on the fan case flange A with the screw (9) and the nut (8). Tighten the nut (8) with your fingers.
       5 Apply the P06-054compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the five nuts (20). See the sheet 2 of the figure:
         a For the new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
       6 Install the ground cable (WF52) (7) on the studs with the five clamps (19) and the nuts (20).
       7 TORQUE the nut (6) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN ) T.
       8 TORQUE the nut (8) to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
T.
       9 TORQUE the five nuts (20) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
T.
       10 Install the air inlet cowl ground cable to the ground cable (WF52) (7) flange A screw (9) (
Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-13-400-801).
     (d) Install the ground cable (WF53) (3) on the fan case as follows:
       1 Apply the P06-054compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the nut (6). See the sheet 1 of the figure:
         a For the new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
       2 Apply the P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine (synthetic base) on the threads of the nut (8).
       3 Install the ground cable (WF53) (3) on the fan case support-ring with the bolt (5), washer (4) and nut (6). Tighten the nut (6) with your fingers.
       4 Install the ground cable (WF53) (3) on the fan case flange A with the screw (9) and the nut (8). Tighten the nut (8) with your fingers.
       5 Apply the P06-054compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the two nuts (20) and the two bolts (5). See the sheet 2 of the figure:
         a For the new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
       6 Install the ground cable (WF53) (3) on the two studs with the two clamps (19) and the nuts (20). Tighten the nuts (20) with your fingers.
       7 Install the ground cable (WF53) (3) on the two brackets with the two clamps (19) and the bolts (5). Tighten them with your fingers.
       8 TORQUE the nut (6) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN ) T.
       9 TORQUE the nut (8) to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
T.
       10 TORQUE the two nuts (20) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
T.
       11 TORQUE the two bolts (5) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
T.
       12 Install the air inlet cowl ground cable to the ground cable (WF53) (3) flange A screw (9) (
Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-13-400-801).
     (e) Install the ground cable (WF50) (29) on the fan case as follows:
       1 Apply the P06-054compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the nut (6). See the sheet 3 of the figure:
         a For the new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
       2 Apply the P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine (synthetic base) on the threads of the nut (8).
       3 Install the ground cable (WF50) (29) on the fan case support-ring with the bolt (5), washer (4) and nut (6). Tighten the nut (6) with your fingers.
       4 Install the ground cable (WF50) (29) on the fan case flange A with the screw (9) and the nut (8). Tighten the nut (8) with your fingers.
       5 Apply the P06-054compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the six nuts (20). See the sheet 4 of the figure:
         a For the new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
       6 Install the ground cable (WF50) (29) on the two brackets and the studs with the two clamps (19) and the nuts (20). Tighten the nuts (20) with your fingers.
       7 Install the ground cable (WF50) (29) on the four studs with the four clamps (19) and the nuts (20).
       8 TORQUE the nut (6) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN ) T.
       9 TORQUE the nut (8) to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
T.
       10 TORQUE the six nuts (20) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
T.
     (f) Install the air inlet cowl ground cable to the ground cable (WF50) (29) flange A screw (9) (
Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-13-400-801).
     (g) Install the bushing (2) on the fan case support-ring with the two bolts (1). See the sheet 5 of the figure:
     (h) TORQUE the two bolts (1) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN ) T.
     (i) Install the ground cable (WF51) (39) on the fan case as follows:
       1 Apply the P06-054compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the nut (6).
         a For the new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
       2 Apply the P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine (synthetic base) on the threads of the nut (8).
       3 Install the ground cable (WF51) (39) on the fan case support-ring with the bolt (5), washer (4) and nut (6). Tighten the nut (6) with your fingers.
       4 Install the ground cable (WF51) (39) on fan case flange A with the screw (9) and the nut (8). Tighten the nut (8) with your fingers.
       5 Apply the P06-054compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the six nuts (20). See the sheet 6 of the figure:
         a For the new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
       6 Install the ground cable (WF51) (39) on the two brackets and the studs with the two clamps (19) and the nuts (20). Tighten the nuts (20) with your fingers.
       7 Install the ground cable (WF51) (39) on the two studs with the two clamps (19) and the nuts (20). Tighten the nuts (20) with your fingers.
       8 Install the bracket (49), the ground cable (WF51) (39), the two clamps (19) and the four nuts (20) on the four studs.
       9 TORQUE the nut (6) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN ) T.
       10 TORQUE the nut (8) to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
T.
       11 TORQUE the eight nuts (20) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN )
T.
       12 Install the air inlet cowl ground cable to the ground cable (WF51) (39) flange A screw (9) (
Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-13-400-801).
     (j) Install the bracket (59), plate (61) and bracket (62) on the fan case as follows. See the sheet 7 of the figure:
       1 Apply the P06-054compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the seven nuts (20) and the four bolts (60).
         a For the new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
       2 Install the bracket (59) on the three studs with the three nuts (20). Tighten the nuts with your fingers.
       3 Install the bracket (62) on the four studs with the four nuts (20).
       4 TORQUE the seven nuts (20) to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN ) T.
       5 Install the plate (61) on the bracket (59) with the four bolts (60).
       6 TORQUE the four bolts (60) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
T.
     (k) Install the six plates (63) and the plate (64) on the bracket (62) as follows:
       1 Apply the P06-054compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the 20 bolts (60).
         a For the new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
       2 Install the six plates (63) on the bracket (62) with the 12 bolts (60). Tighten them with your fingers.
       3 Install the plate (64) on the bracket (62) with the two bolts (60). Tighten them with your fingers.
       4 Install the six bolts (60) on the bracket (62).
       5 TORQUE the 20 bolts (60) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
T.
   (3) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
