1 If you cannot remove the shear bolt (120), replace the mount (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-040) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-042) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-042).
(2) Special detailed inspection (endoscope) of the shear bolt and the shear pin:
(a) Do the special detailed inspection of the shear bolt and the shear pin with the BORESCOPE - FLEXIBLE dia. up to 5 mm (0.1969 in.) and the MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X:
1 Clean any dirt or unwanted material from the shear bolt (120) and the inner surface of the shear pin (130) with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) :
a Do the visual inspection of the shear pin (outer and inner surfaces of the pin) and the bolt bore for unusual step(s), groove(s), unusual machining marks and signs of damage. Use the FLASHLIGHT, if necessary. The inner and outer surfaces must be a smooth, constant machined diameter where no disruption is witnessed. If you find any of these defects, discard and replace the parts.
2 Examine the shear bolt (120) and the inner surface of the shear pin (130) for cracks. Cracks are not permitted. If cracks are found, replace the mount (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-040) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-042) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-042).
(3) Installation of the shear bolt on the right hand link:
(a) Visually examine the bracket (140), retainers (76), (66) and (106) and nut (90) for indication of damage. If there are scratches, marks and/or other damage, reject the parts.
(b) Apply silicone lubricant (Material No.CP5063) on the threads of the shear bolt (120).
(c) Install the shear bolt (120) into the shear pin (130).
(d) Install the new AIPC 71-22-11-01-080 NUT (81).
(e) TORQUE the lock nuts (81) to the minimum value of to between 71.02 and 66 lbf.ft (9.63 and 8.95 m.daN )
.NOTE: TORQUE the lock nuts (81) to the minimum value. When the retainers are installed, increase the value as necessary to align the nuts with the anti-rotation retainers (76).
(f) Temporarily install the anti-rotation retainers (76) and record the position necessary for the alignment of the nuts. Increase the torque on the lock nuts (81) as necessary (do not torque more than the maximum torque value), to align the nuts with the retainers (76). (g) When the lock nuts (81) are torqued and in the aligned position, install the retainers (76), (66), and (106) with the bolts (20), washers (45) and nuts (50).
(h) TORQUE the nuts (50) to between 27 and 24 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.27 m.daN )
.(i) Install the anti-rotation bracket (140), shear pin (130), bolt (120) and retaining pin (110).
H. Special Detailed Inspection (Endoscope) of the Shear Bolt of the Center Link for the Four Lug Turbine Case Configuration
