A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(4) Make sure that the slats are retracted and install 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap and slat control lever.
Subtask 71-22-11-010-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:

Subtask 71-22-11-480-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
BEFORE OPENING THE THRUST REVERSER DOORS TO THE 45 DEGREES POSITION MAKE SURE THAT THE SLATS ARE RETRACTED. IF NOT THE SLATS CAN TOUCH THE INBOARD THRUST REVERSER DOOR.
(1) Open the thrust reverser doors to the 45-degrees position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-040): (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position at the engine level.
E. Installation of the Bootstrap System
(1) Install 98D71203500000 BOOTSTRAP-SYSTEM.
(a) Install the rear beam (9) on the lower part of the pylon and attach with the ball pins (8).
(b) Install the spacer and the center hinge clamp (6) on the pyramid. Attach the spacer to the pyramid with the right and left clamps (7).
(c) Install the forward hinge arms (4) and (5) with the ball pins (3).
(d) Install the link (2) at the upper part of the hinge arms (4) and (5) with the ball pins (1).
(e) Install the dynamometers and the chain pulley blocks.
(2) Install the engine cradle.
(3) Attach the chain hooks to the engine cradle.
(4) Release the pins that attach the engine cradle to the trailer and lift the engine cradle to the engine.
(6) Put the pins in to each fixture. Then at the same time, adjust the tension of the handling hoists so that you can read these values on the dynamometers: 1300 daN (2922 lbf) to 1350 daN (3035 lbf) for the forward dynamometers and 400 daN (900 lbf) for the aft dynamometers.
4. Procedure(1) Install 98D71203500000 BOOTSTRAP-SYSTEM.
(a) Install the rear beam (9) on the lower part of the pylon and attach with the ball pins (8).
(b) Install the spacer and the center hinge clamp (6) on the pyramid. Attach the spacer to the pyramid with the right and left clamps (7).
(c) Install the forward hinge arms (4) and (5) with the ball pins (3).
(d) Install the link (2) at the upper part of the hinge arms (4) and (5) with the ball pins (1).
(e) Install the dynamometers and the chain pulley blocks.
(2) Install the engine cradle.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE CRADLE ON, OR REMOVE IT FROM, THE ENGINE. IF NOT, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE VIBRATION SENSOR CONNECTOR. THE VIBRATION SENSOR CONNECTOR IS IN FRONT OF THE FORWARD HANDLING POINT ON THE RIGHT SIDE.
(a) Put the S487ETT2 ENGINE TROLLEY, together with the S686CR56-5 ENGINE CRADLE in position below the engine. (3) Attach the chain hooks to the engine cradle.
(4) Release the pins that attach the engine cradle to the trailer and lift the engine cradle to the engine.
NOTE: Make the engine cradle level. To do this use the chain pulleys.
(5) Put the pins of the front fixtures into the engine handling points and then install the rear support on the left side. Attach to the engine with a ball pin. (6) Put the pins in to each fixture. Then at the same time, adjust the tension of the handling hoists so that you can read these values on the dynamometers: 1300 daN (2922 lbf) to 1350 daN (3035 lbf) for the forward dynamometers and 400 daN (900 lbf) for the aft dynamometers.

A. Removal of the Aft Engine Mount
(1) Remove the bolts (155) and the washers (160) which attach the aft engine mount (165) to the pylon. Remove the barrel nuts (170) and the retainers (175).
(2) Disconnect the link ends at the turbine case attachment:
(a) Remove the retaining pin (85) from the shear pin (45).
(b) Remove the bolts (5), washers (10), (15) and nuts (20) which attach the outer retainers (25) and (30) to the bracket (60).
(c) Remove the outer retainers (25) and the slotted spanner nuts (35) from the shear bolt (50).
(d) Remove the outer retainers (30) and the slotted spanner nuts (40) from the shear pin (45).

(3) Disconnect the link ends at the cross beam attachment:
(a) Remove the nuts (50), washers (40), bolts (20) and washers (30).
(b) Remove the outer retainers (60) and the nuts (80).
(c) Remove the outer retainers (70), nuts (90) and inner retainers (100).
(d) Remove the retaining pins (110) from the pin (130).
(e) Remove the link assembly (430) from the beam assembly (310).

(4) Disconnect the link ends at the cross beam attachment:
(a) Disconnect the left hand link as follows:
1 Remove the nuts (50), washers (45) and bolts (20).
2 Remove the outer retainer (73) and the lock nut (81).
3 Discard the lock nut (81).
5 Remove the retaining pin (110) from the pin (130).
6 Remove the bolt (120), pin (130) and bracket (140) from the link assembly (430) and beam assembly (310).
7 Remove the link assembly (430) from the beam assembly (310).
(b) Disconnect the right hand and center link as follows:
1 Remove the nuts (50), washers (45) and bolts (20).
2 Remove the outer retainer (75) and the lock nut (81).
3 Discard the lock nut (81).
5 Remove the retaining pin (110) from the pin (130).
6 Remove the bolt (120), pin (130) and bracket (140) from the link assembly (430) and beam assembly (310).
7 Remove the link assembly (430) from the beam assembly (310).

(a) Disconnect the left hand link as follows:
1 Remove the nuts (50), washers (45) and bolts (20).
2 Remove the outer retainer (74) and the lock nut (81).
3 Discard the lock nut (81).
5 Remove the retaining pin (110) from the pin (130).
6 Remove the bolt (120), pin (130) and bracket (140) from the link assembly (430) and beam assembly (310).
7 Remove the link assembly (430) from the beam assembly (310).
(b) Disconnect the right hand link as follows:
1 Remove the nuts (50), washers (45) and bolts (20).
2 Remove the outer retainer (76) and the lock nut (81).
3 Discard the lock nut (81).
5 Remove the retaining pin (110) from the pin (130).
6 Remove the bolt (120), pin (130) and bracket (140) from the link assembly (430) and beam assembly (310).
7 Remove the link assembly (430) from the beam assembly (310).
(c) Disconnect the center link as follows:
1 Remove the nuts (50), washers (45) and bolts (20).
2 Remove the outer retainer (77) and the lock nut (81).
3 Discard the lock nut (81).
5 Remove the retaining pin (110) from the pin (130).
6 Remove the bolt (120), pin (130) and bracket (140) from the link assembly (430) and the beam assembly (310).
7 Remove the link assembly (430) from the beam assembly (310).

(6) Lightly lower the engine from the pylon:
(7) Remove the pins from the center link (430) ends, on the turbine case and mount sides:
(a) Remove the shear bolt (50) from the shear pin (45).
(b) Remove the shear pin (45), anti-rotation bracket (60) and bracket (75) from the turbine case (180).
(c) Remove the bushing (55), shoulder bushing (65) and bushing (70) from the engine.
(d) Remove the bolts (120), pins (130) and anti-rotation brackets (140).
(e) Let the center link stay on the turbine case.
(b) Hold the cross beam while you remove the pins from the lateral link (430) ends, cross beam side. If you do not do this at the same time, the alignment pins (400) will get caught.
(c) Remove the bolts (120), pins (130) and anti-rotation brackets (140).
(d) Push the lateral links (430) to the external side and lower the cross beam (310). When you lower the cross beam, keep it parallel to the pylon attach fitting to disengage the alignment pins.
Put the cross beam carefully on the engine case.
(9) Remove the pins from the lateral link ends, turbine case side:
(a) Remove the shear bolt (50) from the shear pin (45).
(b) Remove the shear pin (45), anti-rotation bracket (60) and bracket (75) from the turbine case (180).
(c) Remove the bushing (55), shoulder bushing (65) and bushing (70) from the engine.
(10) Remove the lateral links.
(11) Turn the cross beam lightly (in the horizontal plane, clockwise looking from the top).
(a) Lift the cross beam to make it touch the intermediate attach fitting on the pylon (alignment pins out of their holes).
(b) Move the cross beam to the left (displace the attachment eye of the center link through the yoke of the engine case which is not used). This is for the engine cases with four yokes. Then move it aft to disengage it.
(12) Remove the center cross beam.
Subtask 71-22-11-420-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the bolts (155) and the washers (160) which attach the aft engine mount (165) to the pylon. Remove the barrel nuts (170) and the retainers (175).
(2) Disconnect the link ends at the turbine case attachment:
(a) Remove the retaining pin (85) from the shear pin (45).
(b) Remove the bolts (5), washers (10), (15) and nuts (20) which attach the outer retainers (25) and (30) to the bracket (60).
(c) Remove the outer retainers (25) and the slotted spanner nuts (35) from the shear bolt (50).
(d) Remove the outer retainers (30) and the slotted spanner nuts (40) from the shear pin (45).

(3) Disconnect the link ends at the cross beam attachment:
(a) Remove the nuts (50), washers (40), bolts (20) and washers (30).
(b) Remove the outer retainers (60) and the nuts (80).
(c) Remove the outer retainers (70), nuts (90) and inner retainers (100).
(d) Remove the retaining pins (110) from the pin (130).
(e) Remove the link assembly (430) from the beam assembly (310).

(a) Disconnect the left hand link as follows:
1 Remove the nuts (50), washers (45) and bolts (20).
2 Remove the outer retainer (73) and the lock nut (81).
3 Discard the lock nut (81).
NOTE: The lock nut (81) can only be used one time. If the lock nut is removed, it must be discarded and replaced with a new one.
4 Remove the retainer (63), nut (90) and retainer (103). 5 Remove the retaining pin (110) from the pin (130).
6 Remove the bolt (120), pin (130) and bracket (140) from the link assembly (430) and beam assembly (310).
7 Remove the link assembly (430) from the beam assembly (310).
(b) Disconnect the right hand and center link as follows:
1 Remove the nuts (50), washers (45) and bolts (20).
2 Remove the outer retainer (75) and the lock nut (81).
3 Discard the lock nut (81).
NOTE: The lock nut (81) can only be used one time. If the lock nut is removed, it must be discarded and replaced with a new one.
4 Remove the retainer (65), nut (90) and retainer (105).5 Remove the retaining pin (110) from the pin (130).
6 Remove the bolt (120), pin (130) and bracket (140) from the link assembly (430) and beam assembly (310).
7 Remove the link assembly (430) from the beam assembly (310).

(a) Disconnect the left hand link as follows:
1 Remove the nuts (50), washers (45) and bolts (20).
2 Remove the outer retainer (74) and the lock nut (81).

NOTE: The lock nut (81) can only be used one time. If the lock nut is removed, it must be discarded and replaced with a new one.
4 Remove the retainer (64), nut (90) and retainer (104).5 Remove the retaining pin (110) from the pin (130).
6 Remove the bolt (120), pin (130) and bracket (140) from the link assembly (430) and beam assembly (310).
7 Remove the link assembly (430) from the beam assembly (310).
(b) Disconnect the right hand link as follows:
1 Remove the nuts (50), washers (45) and bolts (20).
2 Remove the outer retainer (76) and the lock nut (81).
3 Discard the lock nut (81).
NOTE: The lock nut (81) can only be used one time. If the lock nut is removed, it must be discarded and replaced with a new one.
4 Remove the retainer (66), nut (90) and retainer (106).5 Remove the retaining pin (110) from the pin (130).
6 Remove the bolt (120), pin (130) and bracket (140) from the link assembly (430) and beam assembly (310).
7 Remove the link assembly (430) from the beam assembly (310).
(c) Disconnect the center link as follows:
1 Remove the nuts (50), washers (45) and bolts (20).
2 Remove the outer retainer (77) and the lock nut (81).
3 Discard the lock nut (81).
NOTE: The lock nut (81) can only be used one time. If the lock nut is removed, it must be discarded and replaced with a new one.
4 Remove the retainer (67), nut (90) and retainer (107).5 Remove the retaining pin (110) from the pin (130).
6 Remove the bolt (120), pin (130) and bracket (140) from the link assembly (430) and the beam assembly (310).
7 Remove the link assembly (430) from the beam assembly (310).

(6) Lightly lower the engine from the pylon:
CAUTION:
DO NOT LOWER THE CROSS BEAM MORE THAN 4 MM FROM THE PYLON. OR DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
(a) Put the levers of the hoists of the aft mount in the descent position and lower the aft attach fitting by 4 mm. (7) Remove the pins from the center link (430) ends, on the turbine case and mount sides:
(a) Remove the shear bolt (50) from the shear pin (45).
(b) Remove the shear pin (45), anti-rotation bracket (60) and bracket (75) from the turbine case (180).
(c) Remove the bushing (55), shoulder bushing (65) and bushing (70) from the engine.
(d) Remove the bolts (120), pins (130) and anti-rotation brackets (140).
(e) Let the center link stay on the turbine case.
NOTE: You cannot remove the link at this step.
(8) Disconnect the lateral links: CAUTION:
THE CROSS BEAM WEIGHS 23 KG (51LBS). DO NOT HIT THE ENGINE CASE WHEN YOU MOVE THE CROSS BEAM.
(a) Put the MAT - RUBBER between the cross beam and the engine turbine case as a protection. (b) Hold the cross beam while you remove the pins from the lateral link (430) ends, cross beam side. If you do not do this at the same time, the alignment pins (400) will get caught.
(c) Remove the bolts (120), pins (130) and anti-rotation brackets (140).
(d) Push the lateral links (430) to the external side and lower the cross beam (310). When you lower the cross beam, keep it parallel to the pylon attach fitting to disengage the alignment pins.
Put the cross beam carefully on the engine case.
(9) Remove the pins from the lateral link ends, turbine case side:
(a) Remove the shear bolt (50) from the shear pin (45).
(b) Remove the shear pin (45), anti-rotation bracket (60) and bracket (75) from the turbine case (180).
(c) Remove the bushing (55), shoulder bushing (65) and bushing (70) from the engine.
(10) Remove the lateral links.
(11) Turn the cross beam lightly (in the horizontal plane, clockwise looking from the top).
(a) Lift the cross beam to make it touch the intermediate attach fitting on the pylon (alignment pins out of their holes).
(b) Move the cross beam to the left (displace the attachment eye of the center link through the yoke of the engine case which is not used). This is for the engine cases with four yokes. Then move it aft to disengage it.
(12) Remove the center cross beam.
B. Installation of the AFT ENGINE MOUNT ANTI GOUGE SPLINTS.
(1) Put the top slint assemblies (larger) on the outside of the aft engine mount links.
(3) Attach the RSE1224 SPLINT-ENGINE MOUNT AFT to the engine mount two places with TY WRAP.
(a) Wind the TY WRAP around the splints and the aft mount where the splint touches the beam assembly.
(b) Wind the TY WRAP around the splints and the aft mount where the splint touches the link.
(c) Make sure that the TY WRAP is wound very tight and that the splints can not move.
(1) Put the top slint assemblies (larger) on the outside of the aft engine mount links.
NOTE: The end of the splint assembly marked TOP must touch the beam assembly. The other end marked BOTTOM must touch the links.
(2) Put the bottom splint (smaller) on the inside of the aft engine mount links. (3) Attach the RSE1224 SPLINT-ENGINE MOUNT AFT to the engine mount two places with TY WRAP.
(a) Wind the TY WRAP around the splints and the aft mount where the splint touches the beam assembly.
(b) Wind the TY WRAP around the splints and the aft mount where the splint touches the link.
(c) Make sure that the TY WRAP is wound very tight and that the splints can not move.
