A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized and put them in the maintenance configuration
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001)
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems.
   (3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits. (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002)

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
   (2) Remove the access panels 325BL 325BR 325CL 325CR 325DL 325DR 325EL 325ER at the trailing edge of the vertical stabilizer (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-010-002).
   (3) Remove the access panels 325AL 325AR (Ref. AMM TASK 53-55-12-000-001).
   (4) Open the access door 312AR.
4. Procedure
Subtask 55-46-00-200-051-A
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of rudder attachment fittings 1 thru 5 and 7 for wear (Ref. AMM TASK 55-46-00-200-001).
   (2) Do not examine rudder-hinge line fitting 6.
   (3) Do a detailed inspection of the rudder servo-control attachments (Ref. AMM TASK 27-24-51-200-001).

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access door 312AR.
   (3) Install the access panels 325AL 325AR (Ref. AMM TASK 53-55-12-400-001).
   (4) Install the access panels 325BL 325BR 325CL 325CR 325DL 325DR 325EL 325ER on the trailing edge of the vertical stabilizer (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-410-002).
   (5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (6) Remove the access platform(s).
   (7) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
