3. Job Set-up
Subtask 54-55-41-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
     (a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
     (b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position.
   (3) Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
   (4) Make sure that the flap and slat control lever is set to the FULL position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (5) Make sure that the access panels that follow are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
     (a) For the left pylon: 477AL
     (b) For the right pylon: 487AR.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
     (a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
     (b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position.
   (3) Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).
   (4) Make sure that the flap and slat control lever is set to the FULL position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (5) Make sure that the access panels that follow are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
     (a) For the left pylon: 477AL
     (b) For the right pylon: 487AR.

B. Installation of the Clamps
NOTE: This procedure is applicable to the aft movable fairing on which the clamps are not installed.
   (1) Install the clamps at the end of each seal retainer with two rivets SRM 51400000.
     (a) For the left wing:
       1 For the AIPC 54-55-11-02-370 SEAL (2), install the AIPC 54-55-11-02-345 CLAMP (3) and the AIPC 54-55-11-02-345 CLAMP (1).
       2 For the
AIPC 54-55-11-02-340 SEAL (8), install the AIPC 54-55-11-02-315 CLAMP (9) and the AIPC 54-55-11-02-345 CLAMP (7).
       3 For the
AIPC 54-55-11-02-060 SEAL (5), install the AIPC 54-55-11-02-345 CLAMP (6) and the AIPC 54-55-11-02-345 CLAMP (4).
     (b) For the right wing:
       1 For the
AIPC 54-55-11-02-370 SEAL (2), install the AIPC 54-55-11-02-348 CLAMP (3) and the AIPC 54-55-11-02-348 CLAMP (1).
       2 For the
AIPC 54-55-11-02-340 SEAL (8), install the AIPC 54-55-11-02-318 CLAMP (9) and the AIPC 54-55-11-02-348 CLAMP (7).
       3 For the
AIPC 54-55-11-02-060 SEAL (5), install the AIPC 54-55-11-02-348 CLAMP (6) and the AIPC 54-55-11-02-348 CLAMP (4).
   (2) Put the new rivets through the retainer and the clamp.
   (3) Cut the rivets to the correct length.
   (4) Make sure that the rivets are flush with the surface of the retainer.
   (5) Drill a 3.6 mm (0.1417 in.) diameter hole on the retainer to install the seal pin.
   (6) Deburr the hole of the retainer with the emery cloth.

   (1) Remove the grease from the surface of the retainers that touches the seals with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) For the new seals:
     (a) Remove the talcum powder from the surface of the seals with hot water and the washing powder.
     (b) Flush the surface of the seals with clean water and let it dry.
   (3) Make the surface of the retainer rough with the emery cloth, grade 120 to 240.
4. Procedure
Subtask 54-55-41-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Aft Movable-Fairing Seals
NOTE: Be careful not to cause damage to the surface of the retainers.
   (1) On the contact surfaces of the seals (2), (5) and (8) and the retainers:
     (a) Apply Contact Adhesive-Rubber & Plastic Bonding Neoprene base - (Material No.05JBC9) for the seals with P/N D54530240220, P/N D54530240221 and P/N D54530240222.
     (b) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) for the seals with P/N D54530240224, P/N D54530240225 and P/N D54530240222.
   (2) If necessary, lightly bend the clips to install the ends of the seals below the clips.
   (3) Install the seals (2), (5) and (8) on the retainers.

   (1) Apply the Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) on the rear seal (5) and the retainer (4).
   (2) Install the new rear seal (5) on the retainer (4).
   (3) Apply the Contact Adhesive-Rubber & Plastic Bonding Neoprene base - (Material No.05JBC9) on the contact surfaces of the seals (2), (7) and (9) and the retainers (3), (6) and (10).
   (4) Install the new seals (2), (7) and (9), the retainers (3), (6) and (10) and the screws (1) and (8).
   (5) Tighten the screws (1) and (8).

   (1) Apply the Contact Adhesive-Rubber & Plastic Bonding Neoprene base - (Material No.05JBC9) on the contact surfaces of the seals (2), (5) and (7) and the retainers (3), (4) and (8).
   (2) Install the new seals (2), (5) and (7), the retainers (3), (4) and (8) and the screws (1) and (6).
   (3) Tighten the screws (1) and (6).

B. Inspection
   (1) Make sure that the clamp holds the seal tightly.
   (2) Make sure that the seal is in the correct position on the retainer.
   (3) Make sure that the seal pin is perpendicular to the face of the retainer.

A. Close Access
   (1) Install the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-002):
     (a) For the left pylon: 477AL
     (b) For the right pylon: 487AR.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make the thrust reverser serviceable after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-081-041).
   (2) Set the flap and slat control lever to the 1 position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make the thrust reverser serviceable after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-012).
   (2) Set the flap and slat control lever to the 1 position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).

C. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
