3. Job Set-up
Subtask 54-53-00-941-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC.

B. Make the thrust reverser unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
     (a) For the left pylon, in zone 410
     (b) For the right pylon, in zone 420.
4. Procedure
Subtask 54-53-00-040-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Deactivation of the Aerodynamic Seal
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) Remove the access panels (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
     (a) For the left pylon: 414FR
     (b) For the right pylon: 423FL.
   (2) Remove the damaged seal (3) from its support (2).
   (3) Install the access panels (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-002):
     (a) For the left pylon: 414FR
     (b) For the right pylon: 423FL.
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
   (5) Clean the pylon structure and the wing structure around the space where the seal was installed, with Non Aqueous Cleaner-Non structural use - - (Material No.08BPA1) .
   (6) Put three layers of Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - Sound damping - (Material No.05RAC1) (adhesive film tape) on the space where the seal was installed.
   (7) You must attach the first layer longitudinally on the space and the second and third layers diagonally to get an overlap of the layers.
Subtask 54-53-00-040-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Deactivation of the Aerodynamic Seal
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) Remove the access panels (1) and (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
     (a) For the left pylon: 471AL, 471AR
     (b) For the right pylon: 481AL, 481AR.
   (2) Remove the damaged seals (4) and (5) from their supports (3) and (6).
   (3) Install the access panels (1) and (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-002):
     (a) For the left pylon: 471AL, 471AR
     (b) For the right pylon: 481AL, 481AR.
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
   (5) Clean the pylon structure and the wing structure, around the space where the seal was installed, with Non Aqueous Cleaner-Non structural use - - (Material No.08BPA1) .
   (6) Put three layers of Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - Sound damping - (Material No.05RAC1) (adhesive film tape) on the space where the seal was installed.
   (7) You must attach the first layer longitudinally on the space and the second and third layers diagonally to get an overlap of the layers.

A. Make the thrust reverser serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-081-041).

A. Make the thrust reverser serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-012).
Subtask 54-53-00-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Make an entry in the aircraft technical log to show that the aerodynamic seal of the pylon is removed and temporarily closed with high-speed tape.
