A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 54-51-61-040-053-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-51-61-010-054-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). C. Get access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

D. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) If they are not sufficiently clean, clean the parts retained from the removed component with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) If they are not sufficiently clean, clean the parts retained from the removed component with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
Subtask 54-51-61-420-051-A
A. Installation of the Thermal Blanket between RIB1 and RIB5
(1) Put and hold the thermal blankets (20), (23) and (24) in position.
(2) Install the washers (21) and the bolts (22).
(3) Tighten the bolts (22).
(4) Install the pylon fire-detector ramp-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-16-400-804).
(5) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected pipe end.
(6) Make sure that the pipe is clean and in the correct condition.
(7) Install the engine fire-extinguishing pipe (8) to its connection. To do this:
(a) Put and hold the engine fire-extinguishing pipe (8) in the correct position.
(b) Make sure that the clamps (11) are in position.
(c) Install the washers (9) and the bolts (10).
(d) Tighten the bolts (10)
(e) Connect the engine fire-extinguishing pipe (8) at applicable location.
(f) Tighten the nut (7).
(8) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected pipe end.
(9) Make sure that the pipes are clean and in the correct condition.
(10) When you connect the pipes, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
(11) Connect the pipes (2), (4), (6) and (12) on the left pylon. To do this:
(a) Connect the pipe (4) at applicable location.
(b) Tighten the nut (3).
(c) Connect the pipe (12) at applicable location.
(d) Triple TORQUE the nut (13) that connects the pipe (12) on the pylon as follows:
1 TORQUE the nut (13) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )

2 Loosen the nut (13).
3 TORQUE the nut (13) again to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )

4 Final TORQUE the nut (13) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )

(e) Connect the pipe (6) at the applicable location.
(f) Triple TORQUE the nut (5) that connects the pipe (6) on the pylon as follows:
1 TORQUE the nut (5) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )

2 Loosen the nut (5).
3 TORQUE the nut (5) again to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )

4 Final TORQUE the nut (5) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )

(g) Connect the pipe (2) at applicable location.
(h) Triple TORQUE the nut (1) that connects the pipe (2) on the pylon as follows:
1 TORQUE the nut (1) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )

2 Loosen the nut (1).
3 TORQUE the nut (1) again to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )

(12) Connect the pipes (15), (17) and (18) on the right pylon. To do this:
(a) Connect the pipe (18) at applicable location.
(b) Triple TORQUE the nut (19) that connects the pipe (18) on the pylon as follows:
1 TORQUE the nut (19) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )

2 Loosen the nut (19).
3 TORQUE the nut (19) again to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )

4 Final TORQUE the nut (19) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )

(c) Connect the pipe (17) at the applicable location.
(d) Triple TORQUE the nut (16) that connects the pipe (17) on the pylon as follows:
1 TORQUE the nut (16) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )

2 Loosen the nut (16).
3 TORQUE the nut (16) again to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )

4 Final TORQUE the nut (16) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )

(e) Connect the pipe (15) at applicable location.
(f) Triple TORQUE the nut (14) that connects the pipe (15) on the pylon as follows:
1 TORQUE the nut (14) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )

2 Loosen the nut (14).
3 TORQUE the nut (14) again to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )

Subtask 54-51-61-790-050-A (1) Put and hold the thermal blankets (20), (23) and (24) in position.
(2) Install the washers (21) and the bolts (22).
(3) Tighten the bolts (22).
(4) Install the pylon fire-detector ramp-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-16-400-804).
(5) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected pipe end.
(6) Make sure that the pipe is clean and in the correct condition.
(7) Install the engine fire-extinguishing pipe (8) to its connection. To do this:

(11) Connect the pipes (2), (4), (6) and (12) on the left pylon. To do this:
(a) Connect the pipe (4) at applicable location.
(b) Tighten the nut (3).
(c) Connect the pipe (12) at applicable location.
(d) Triple TORQUE the nut (13) that connects the pipe (12) on the pylon as follows:
1 TORQUE the nut (13) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
. 2 Loosen the nut (13).
3 TORQUE the nut (13) again to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
. 4 Final TORQUE the nut (13) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
. (e) Connect the pipe (6) at the applicable location.
(f) Triple TORQUE the nut (5) that connects the pipe (6) on the pylon as follows:
1 TORQUE the nut (5) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
. 2 Loosen the nut (5).
3 TORQUE the nut (5) again to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
. 4 Final TORQUE the nut (5) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
. (g) Connect the pipe (2) at applicable location.
(h) Triple TORQUE the nut (1) that connects the pipe (2) on the pylon as follows:
1 TORQUE the nut (1) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
. 2 Loosen the nut (1).
3 TORQUE the nut (1) again to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )

. (12) Connect the pipes (15), (17) and (18) on the right pylon. To do this:
(a) Connect the pipe (18) at applicable location.
(b) Triple TORQUE the nut (19) that connects the pipe (18) on the pylon as follows:
1 TORQUE the nut (19) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
