WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 26-12-16-865-065-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 26-12-16-010-073-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser system is deactivated for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). F. Get Access

(b) For electrical harness 4228KS (Ref. AMM TASK 71-52-43-000-804).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the electrical connectors are disconnected:
(a) For electrical harnesses 4204KS and 4205KS (Ref. AMM TASK 71-52-43-000-803).
(b) For electrical harness 4228KS (Ref. AMM TASK 71-52-43-000-804).
Subtask 26-12-16-420-063-B
A. Installation of the Pylon Fire-Detector Ramp-Assembly
(2) If necessary, use a FLASHLIGHT and an MIRROR - INSPECTION.
(3) Carefully put the ramp assembly (4) in position on the right side of the pylon (3).
(4) Make sure that clamps are open.
(5) Make sure that the electrical cables from the pylon lower spar are correctly installed on the metal jaws of the clamps.
(6) Install the washers (2) and the bolts (1) on the ramp assembly (4).
(7) Tighten the bolts (1).
(8) Remove the blanking caps from the two responders (5).
(9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(10) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(11) Put the four electrical cables (6) and (7) in position on the two responders (5) and the eight clamps (10) and (11).
(a) Install the four nuts (8) and (9) on the two responders (5).
1 TORQUE the two nuts (8) to between 0.40 and 0.34 m.daN (35.40 and 30.09 lbf.in )

2 TORQUE the two nuts (9) to between 0.28 and 0.23 m.daN (24.78 and 20.35 lbf.in )
.
(b) Close the eight clamps (10) and (11).
1 Make sure that the electrical cables are correctly installed on the metal jaws of the clamps.
2 Close the eight clamps (10) and (11) and turn the related quarter-turn fasteners (12) by one quarter of a turn.
Subtask 26-12-16-420-064-A CAUTION:
DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE QUARTER-TURN FASTENER ON THE FIRE DETECTOR CLAMP. ONLY USE A MANUAL SCREWDRIVER. ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS WILL CAUSE THE FASTENER TO TURN TOO MUCH AND POSSIBLY TO BREAK.
CAUTION:
DO NOT BEND THE MANIFOLD OF THE SENSING ELEMENT. IF YOU BEND IT, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE WELDING.
(1) Put a CLOTH - PROTECTIVE below the work area to help you to find the fasteners if they fall. (2) If necessary, use a FLASHLIGHT and an MIRROR - INSPECTION.
(3) Carefully put the ramp assembly (4) in position on the right side of the pylon (3).
(4) Make sure that clamps are open.
(5) Make sure that the electrical cables from the pylon lower spar are correctly installed on the metal jaws of the clamps.
(6) Install the washers (2) and the bolts (1) on the ramp assembly (4).
(7) Tighten the bolts (1).
(8) Remove the blanking caps from the two responders (5).
(9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(10) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(11) Put the four electrical cables (6) and (7) in position on the two responders (5) and the eight clamps (10) and (11).

(1) On the upper ECAM DU, make sure that the FIRE ENG1(2) LOOP A (B) FAULT message is not shown.
