4. Procedure
Subtask 54-50-00-720-050-A
A. Operational Check of the Pylon Drain System
   (1) Do a visual check of the drain outlets with the FLASHLIGHT or the MIRROR - INSPECTION to make sure that are no blocked.
   (2) Do an operational check of the pylon drain system as follows:
     (a) For zone A:
1 Remove the applicable screws from panels 413BL and 423BL.
NOTE: The diameter of the screws hole is 4.8 mm (0.1890 in.).
2 Slowly put water into the screw hole, in the inner forward part of zone A, with a SYRINGE.
3 Make sure that, after one minute, the water flows freely through the drain exit at the engine drain mast.
4 Install the removed screws on panels 413BL and 423BL.
     (b) For forward zone F:
1 Remove the applicable screws from panels 413ET and 423ET.
NOTE: The diameter of the screws hole is 4.8 mm (0.1890 in.).
2 Slowly put water into the fastener hole, in the forward part of zone F, with a SYRINGE.
3 Make sure that, after one minute, water freely flows out of the drain line of zones F and D.
If the water does not flow out of the common drain outlet of zones F and D, remove the rear pylon fairing to do a check of the drain outlet of intermediate zone F (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-804).
4 Install the removed screws on panels 413ET and 423ET.
     (c) For rear zone F:
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU OPEN A PRESSURE RELIEF DOOR. IF YOU DO NOT, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LATCH AND THE PANEL.
1 Open pressure relief doors 471BL and 482BR.
2 Slowly put water into the top of the upper titanium spar with a SYRINGE.
3 Make sure that, after one minute, water freely flows out of the drain line of zone D and F.
     (d) For zone D:
Refer to the check for zone F as zones F and D have the same drain outlet.
     (e) For zone C:
1 Slowly put water into the ventilation hole, which is in the lock of access doors 415BL and 425BL. To do this, use a SYRINGE.
NOTE: The diameter of the ventilation hole is 14 mm (0.5512 in.).
2 Make sure that, after one minute, water freely flows out of the drain outlet of zone C.
WARNING: USE A PROTECTIVE EYE SHIELD OR GOGGLES WHEN YOU USE COMPRESSED AIR. IF YOU GET HIGH-PRESSURE AIR OR PARTICLES IN YOUR EYES, IN YOUR MOUTH OR ON YOUR SKIN, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
   (3) Use the compressed air to dry the pylon drain systems.
