A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position in the flight compartment to tell persons not to start the APU.

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) in position below the APU compartment.
   (2) Open APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-58-11-960-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Replacement of the Tail Cone Sealing-Profiles
NOTE: This procedure is applicable if the tail cone sealing-profiles around the APU access doors are damaged.
   (1) Remove the adhesive with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Remove the sealant from the bottom of FR80 with the SCRAPER - WOODEN or the SCRAPER - PLASTIC.
   (3) Drill out the rivets (13).
   (4) Remove the hi-lok collars (7), the hi-lok pins (12) and the washers (10) which hold the sealing strips (3), (4), (5), (6), (9) and (11) at the two sides of the tail cone.
   (5) Discard the hi-lok collars (7) and the hi-lok pins (12).
   (6) Remove and discard the sealing strips (3), (4), (5), (6), (9) and (11).
   (7) Remove and discard the sealing profiles (8).
   (8) Drill out the rivets (18).
   (9) Remove the sealing sheets (14) and (17).
   (10) Pull the seals (15) and (16) away from the connecting fitting (19).
   (11) Remove the connecting fitting 19) from the sealing profile (1).
   (12) Remove and discard the sealing profiles (1) and (2) from FR80 and FR84.
   (13) Clean the mating surfaces of the structure and the new sealing profiles with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (14) Put the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-170 SEALING PROFILE (1) and the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-160 SEALING PROFILE (2) in position on FR80 and FR84 and make a mark at their ends.
   (15) Install the connecting fitting (19) on the sealing profile (1).
   (16) Push the seals (15) and (16) into the connecting fitting (19).
   (17) Install the sealing sheets (14) and (17).
   (18) Install the new
AIPC 53-58-04-12-210 RIVETS (18) in the sealing sheets (14) and (17) and the seals (15) and (16).
   (19) Cut the ends of the sealing profiles (1) and (2) to make a miter.
   (20) Bond the sealing profiles (1) and (2) to FR80 and FR84 with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Solvant Resistant One part - (Material No.
06CDD1) . For this, obey the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
   (21) Put the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-150 SEALING PROFILES (8) in position and make marks at their ends.
   (22) Cut the ends of the sealing profiles (8) to make a miter.
   (23) Bond the ends of the sealing profiles (8) to the ends of the sealing profiles (1) and (2) with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Solvant Resistant One part - (Material No.
06CDD1) .
   (24) Bond the sealing profiles (8) to the structure with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Solvant Resistant One part - (Material No.06CDD1) .
   (25) Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) on the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-010 RIVETS (13) and the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-130 HI-LOK PINS (12).
   (26) Put the sealing strips (3), (4), (5), (6),(9) and (11) that follow in position on the structure with the rivets (13):
   (27) Install the hi-lok pins (12), the washers (10) and the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-120 HI-LOK COLLARS (7).
   (28) Tighten the hi-lok collars (7).
   (29) Fill the sealing profile from the bottom to the top at FR80 with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Solvant Resistant One part - (Material No.
06CDD1) .
   (30) Fill 15 mm (0.591 in.) from the frame center to the two sides of the tail cone with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Solvant Resistant One part - (Material No.06CDD1) .
Subtask 53-58-11-960-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Replacement of the Tail Cone Sealing-Profiles
NOTE: This procedure is applicable if the tail cone sealing-profiles around the APU access doors are damaged.
   (1) Remove the adhesive with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Remove the sealant from the bottom of FR80 with the SCRAPER - WOODEN or the SCRAPER - PLASTIC.
   (3) Remove the attachments parts that hold the sealing strips (3), (4), (5), (6), (9) and (11) at the two sides of the tail cone:
NOTE: The sealing strips can have two types of attachment parts.
     (a) Remove the hi-lok pins (13), the washers (23) and the hi-lok collars (20).
     (b) Discard the hi-lok pins (13) and the hi-lok collars (20).
     (c) Drill out the rivets (21) and (22).
or
     (d) Remove the bolts (13), the washers (23) and the nuts (20).
     (e) Drill out the rivets (21) and (22).
   (4) Remove the hi-lok collars (7), the washers (10) and the hi-lok pins (12).
   (5) Discard the hi-lok collars (7) and the hi-lok pins (12).
   (6) Remove and discard the sealing profiles (8).
   (7) Remove and discard the sealing strips (3), (4), (5), (6), (9) and (11).
   (8) Drill out the rivets (18).
   (9) Remove the sealing sheets (14) and (17).
   (10) Pull the seals (15) and (16) away from the connecting fitting (19).
   (11) Remove the connecting fitting (19) from the sealing profile (1).
   (12) Remove and discard the sealing profiles (1) and (2) from FR80 and FR84.
   (13) Clean the mating surfaces of the structure and the new sealing profiles with Non Aqueous Cleaner_- Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone - (Material No.08BBF1) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (14) Put the new AIPC 53-58-84-12-010 SEALING PROFILE (1) or the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-170 SEALING PROFILE (1) and the new AIPC 53-58-84-12-080 SEALING PROFILE (2) or the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-160 SEALING PROFILE (2) in position on FR80 and FR84 and make a mark at their ends.
   (15) Install the connecting fitting (19) on the sealing profile (1).
   (16) Push the seals (15) and (16) into the connecting fitting (19).
   (17) Install the sealing sheets (14) and (17).
   (18) Install the new
AIPC 53-58-84-12-070 RIVETS (18) or the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-210 RIVETS (18) in the sealing sheets (14) and (17) and the seals (15) and (16).
   (19) Cut the ends of the sealing profiles (1) and (2) to make a miter.
   (20) Bond the sealing profiles (1) and (2) to FR80 and FR84 with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Solvant Resistant One part - (Material No.
06CDD1) . For this, obey the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
   (21) Put the new AIPC 53-58-84-12-110 SEALING PROFILES (8) or the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-150 SEALING PROFILES (8) in position and make marks at their ends.
   (22) Cut the ends of the sealing profiles (8) to make a miter.
   (23) Bond the ends of the sealing profiles (8) to the ends of the sealing profiles (1) and (2) with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Solvant Resistant One part - (Material No.
06CDD1) .
   (24) Bond the sealing profiles (8) to the structure with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Solvant Resistant One part - (Material No.06CDD1) .
   (25) Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) on the new AIPC 53-58-84-12-195 RIVETS (21) or the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-013 RIVETS (21), the new AIPC 53-58-84-12-197 RIVETS (22) or the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-014 RIVETS (22) and the new AIPC 53-58-84-12-130 HI-LOK PINS (12) or the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-130 HI-LOK PINS (12).
   (26) Put the sealing strips (3), (4), (5), (6),(9) and (11) that follow in position on the structure:
   (27) Attach the sealing strips (3), (4, (5), (6), (9) and (11) to the structure with the parts that follow:
     (a) Install the new
AIPC 53-58-84-12-195 RIVETS (21) or the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-013 RIVETS (21) and the new AIPC 53-58-84-12-197 RIVETS (22) or the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-014 RIVETS (22).
     (b) Install the new
AIPC 53-58-84-12-220 HI-LOK PINS (13) or the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-015 HI-LOK PINS (13), the washers (23) and the new AIPC 53-58-84-12-230 HI-LOK COLLARS (20) or the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-017 HI-LOK COLLARS (20).
or
     (c) Install the rivets (21) and (22).
     (d) Install the bolts (13), the washers (23) and the nuts (20).
   (28) Install the hi-lok pins (12), the washers (10) and the new
AIPC 53-58-84-12-140 HI-LOK COLLARS (7) or the new AIPC 53-58-04-12-120 HI-LOK COLLARS (7).
   (29) Tighten the hi-lok collars (7).
   (30) Fill the sealing profile from the bottom to the top at FR80 with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Solvant Resistant One part - (Material No.
06CDD1) .
   (31) Fill 15 mm (0.591 in.) from the frame center to the two sides of the tail cone with Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Solvant Resistant One part - (Material No.06CDD1) .

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
