B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) On overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
Subtask 49-32-41-865-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

D. Get Access
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(3) Open APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(4) Set the light switch 11LJ to the ON position.
4. ProcedureWARNING:
BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
(1) Put on and attach the HARNESS, SAFETY before you start work in the work area.(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(3) Open APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(4) Set the light switch 11LJ to the ON position.
Subtask 49-32-41-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Filter
(1) Put the CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) below the FCU (1).
(2) Loosen the nuts (6).
(3) Remove the filter housing (2) from the FCU (1).
(4) Remove and discard the filter element (4) and O-rings (3) and (5).
Subtask 49-32-41-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) below the FCU (1).
(2) Loosen the nuts (6).
(3) Remove the filter housing (2) from the FCU (1).
(4) Remove and discard the filter element (4) and O-rings (3) and (5).
B. Installation of the Filter
(1) Lubricate the new AIPC 49-32-11-70-030 O-RING (3) or AIPC 49-32-84-31-030 O-RING (3) with Mineral base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03BEB1) , Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) or Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) .
(2) Install the new O-ring (3) on the filter housing (2).
(3) Lubricate the new AIPC 49-32-11-70-050 O-RING (5) or AIPC 49-32-84-31-050 O-RING (5) with Mineral base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03BEB1) , Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) or Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) .
(4) Install the new O-ring (5) on the new AIPC 49-32-11-70-040 FILTER (4) or AIPC 49-32-84-31-040 FILTER (4).
(5) Install the new filter (4) into the filter housing (2).
(6) Put the filter housing (2) on the FCU (1).
(7) Rotate the filter housing (2) clockwise to engage assembly with studs and nuts (6).
(8) TORQUE the nuts (6) to between 0.47 and 0.43 m.daN (41.59 and 38.05 lbf.in )

(4) Install the new O-ring (5) on the new AIPC 49-32-11-70-040 FILTER (4) or AIPC 49-32-84-31-040 FILTER (4).
(5) Install the new filter (4) into the filter housing (2).
(6) Put the filter housing (2) on the FCU (1).
(7) Rotate the filter housing (2) clockwise to engage assembly with studs and nuts (6).
(8) TORQUE the nuts (6) to between 0.47 and 0.43 m.daN (41.59 and 38.05 lbf.in )
. C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Bleeding of the APU fuel line
(1) Bleed the air from the APU fuel line (Ref. AMM TASK 28-22-00-710-001).
Subtask 49-32-41-710-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Bleed the air from the APU fuel line (Ref. AMM TASK 28-22-00-710-001).
NOTE: When the fuel that flows out from the drain hose contains no air, release the fuel-vent pushbutton switch.
E. Start and operate the APU.
(1) Close APU access doors 315AL and 316AR. (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(2) Start and operate the APU for 5 minutes (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-008).
(3) Shutdown the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(4) Open APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(5) Do a check for leaks at the filter housing (2).
5. Close-up(1) Close APU access doors 315AL and 316AR. (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(2) Start and operate the APU for 5 minutes (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-008).
(3) Shutdown the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(4) Open APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(5) Do a check for leaks at the filter housing (2).
NOTE: No leakage are permitted.
Subtask 49-32-41-410-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set the light switch 11LJ to the OFF position.
(3) Close APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY.
Subtask 49-32-41-860-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set the light switch 11LJ to the OFF position.
(3) Close APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Pressurize the aircraft hydraulic systems
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
(1) Pressurize the aircraft hydraulic systems
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
