E. Preparation for the Test
   (1) Fill the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
   (2) If you do work on the aft drain mast, put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in the correct position.
   (3) Install a hose with a VALVE - SHUT OFF in the related drain mast.
NOTE: You can use an 98D38108002000 ADAPTER DRAIN MAST as an alternative to the VALVE - SHUT OFF.
   (4) Put the open end of the hose in a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL).
   (5) Close the shutoff valve assembly at the drain mast.
4. Procedure
Subtask 38-32-00-710-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Do this test:
NOTE: This procedure is applicable only for the drain assembly that has a stopper.
ACTION
RESULT
1.In the lavatory:
  • Operate the water faucet.
In the lavatory:
  • The water flows into the washbasin.
2.At the drain mast:
  • Open the shutoff valve assembly.
At the drain mast:
  • The water drains from the drain valve.
3.At the drain mast:
  • Close the shutoff valve assembly.

4.In the lavatory:
  • Put the stopper in the washbasin to prevent the flow of water into the drain assembly.
  • Operate the water faucet until the washbasin is full.
  • Make a mark to identify the level of water.

5.In the lavatory:
  • Examine the water level after 5 minutes.
In the lavatory:
  • The water level in the washbasin does not change.
6.In the lavatory:
  • Remove the stopper from the washbasin to drain the water.
  • Let the water drain.
In the lavatory:

  • The water drains from the washbasin.
  • The drain lines are filled.
7.In the lavatory:
  • Make a mark to identify the new level of water.
  • Examine the water level after 5 minutes.
In the lavatory:

  • The water level does not change.
8.At the drain mast:
  • Open the shutoff valve assembly.
  • Examine the rate of the water flow from the drain mast.
In the lavatory:
  • The water drains from the washbasin.

A. Do this test:
NOTE: This procedure is applicable only for the drain assembly that has a drain plug.
ACTION
RESULT
1.In the lavatory:
  • Operate the water faucet.
In the lavatory:
  • The water flows into the washbasin.
2.At the drain mast:
  • Open the shutoff valve assembly.
At the drain mast:
  • The water drains from the drain valve.
3.At the drain mast:
  • Close the shutoff valve assembly.

4.In the lavatory:
  • Push the drain plug in the washbasin to prevent the flow of water into the drain assembly.
  • Operate the water faucet until the washbasin is full.
  • Make a mark to identify the level of water.

5.In the lavatory:
  • Examine the water level after 5 minutes.
In the lavatory:
  • The water level in the washbasin does not change.
6.In the lavatory:
  • Pull the drain plug to drain the water.
  • Let the water drain.
In the lavatory:
  • The water drains from the washbasin.
  • The drain lines are filled.
7.In the lavatory:
  • Make a mark to identify the new level of water.
  • Examine the water level after 5 minutes.
In the lavatory:

  • The water level does not change.
8.At the drain mast:
  • Open the shutoff valve assembly.
  • Examine the rate of the water flow from the drain mast.
In the lavatory:
  • The water drains from the washbasin.

B. Close Access
   (1) Remove the hose and the VALVE - SHUT OFF.
   (2) If the 98D38108002000 ADAPTER DRAIN MAST is installed, remove it.
   (3) Remove the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (6) Close the applicable lavatory door (Ref. AMM D/O 25-41-00-00) or (Ref. AMM D/O 25-43-00-00).
