A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred for not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on)
  • Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off)
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
   (3) On ENG panel 115VU:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
   (4) On the HP ground connector:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
   (5) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

   (1) Make the T/R unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

   (3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Upper HP Duct Links
F Upper HP Duct-Links ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
   (2) In the cockpit, on the SD bleed page:
     (a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
   (3) Remove the nuts (1), washers (4) and bolts (5) that attach the links (2) and (3) to the upper HP duct assembly.
   (4) Remove the nuts (10), washers (8), bolts (9) and bushings (7) that attach the links (2) and (3) to the brackets (6) and (12) on engine flange STA. 233 and STA. 239.

B. Removal of the Mid Stage T-Duct Assembly Links
F Mid-Stage T-Duct Links ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Remove the nuts (1), bolts (3) and washers (2) from the links (4) and (5) that connect to the Mid Stage T-Duct.
   (2) Remove the nuts (6), bolts (10), washers (9) and bushings (8). Remove the links (4) and (5) from the brackets (7) and (12) on the engine flange STA. 215.
