WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTER TORQUE TO THE UNION ON THE VALVE WHEN YOU CONNECT THE HP SENSE TUBE.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) On the AIR COND control-panel 30VU:

(2) On the AIR COND control-panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (OFF legend on).
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the engine.
(2) Remove these access panels:

A. Removal of the Starter Valve Elbow-Duct and the Precooler Exchanger Tee-Duct from the Pylon
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
(a) Remove the bolts (8) and washers (9) from the support (10).
(b) Remove the clamps (7) and (12) to disengage the duct (11).
(c) Remove and discard the seal (13).
(d) Remove the support (10) and the duct (11).
(4) Removal of the precooler exchanger tee-duct as follows:
(a) Remove the bolts (4) and the washers (3) from the support (2) of the duct (1).
(b) Remove the clamps (5) and (6).
(c) Disengage the duct (1).
(d) Remove the duct (1).
(e) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
- For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-006)
- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
(3) Removal of the starter valve elbow-duct as follows: (a) Remove the bolts (8) and washers (9) from the support (10).
(b) Remove the clamps (7) and (12) to disengage the duct (11).
(c) Remove and discard the seal (13).
(d) Remove the support (10) and the duct (11).
(4) Removal of the precooler exchanger tee-duct as follows:
(a) Remove the bolts (4) and the washers (3) from the support (2) of the duct (1).
(b) Remove the clamps (5) and (6).
(c) Disengage the duct (1).
(d) Remove the duct (1).
(e) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
