3. Job Set-up
Subtask 34-55-11-860-050-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) In the cockpit, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
   (3) Put on a safety harness:
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
     (a) Put on and attach a 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY before you start work in the work area.
   (4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at zone 324.
   (5) Make sure that vertical stabilizer 324AT is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 55-34-11-000-001).

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

4. Procedure
Subtask 34-55-11-140-050-A
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Remove the used sealant from the antenna support with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
   (2) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Make sure that the antenna-attachment points have no signs of paint, corrosion or sealant.

B. Installation of the VOR Antenna
   (1) Solution 1 (VOR antenna S/N 001-331):
     (a) Put the antenna (1) in position and install the washers (4) and the screws (5).
     (b) TORQUE the screws (5) to between 0.45 and 0.35 m.daN (39.82 and 30.97 lbf.in ) T.


   (2) Solution 2 (VOR antenna S/N 332 and subsequent):
     (a) Put the antenna (1) in position and install the isolation washers (6), washers (4) and screws (5).
     (b) TORQUE the screws (5) to between 0.45 and 0.35 m.daN (39.82 and 30.97 lbf.in )
T.

   (3) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (4) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (5) Connect the cable connectors (2) to the antenna connectors (3).
   (6) Make sure that the bonding contact resistance between the antenna (1) and the fuselage structure is not higher than 5 milliohms (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (7) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Quick Curing - (Material No.06ABF1) around the antenna electrical bonding points and the screws (5).
   (8) Let the sealant cure.
   (9) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the sealant around the electrical bonding points.
   (10) Apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) to the sealant on the head of the screws (5).
Subtask 34-55-11-420-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the VOR Antenna
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
   (4) Put the VOR antenna (3) in position.
   (5) Install the bolts (1) and (2) and the washers (4).
   (6) Tighten the bolts (1) and (2).
   (7) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
     (a) Make sure that the bonding contact resistance between the VOR antenna (3) and the fuselage structure is not higher than 5 milliohms (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (8) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (9) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (10) Connect the cable coaxial connectors (6) to the antenna connectors (7).
   (11) Engage the cable of the coaxial connectors (6) to the clamps (5):
     (a) Install the clamps (5) in the applicable hole position in the bracket to adjust the length of the harness.
       1 For a correct harness installation, refer to ESPM 203311.
     (b) Make sure that between the antenna connectors (6) and the clamps (5) harness 4202VB and 4204VB have a flat shape.

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Do the functional test of the VOR system (Ref. AMM TASK 34-55-00-720-001).

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install vertical stabilizer tip 324AT (Ref. AMM TASK 55-34-11-400-001).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

B. De-energize the ground service network
