A. BITE Test of the Cabin Attendant Work-lights and Passenger Reading Lights on the Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU) 3CA
   (1) Do this test.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the FAP 120RH:
On the FAP 120RH:
  • Push the POWER READ and POWER ATTN membrane switches.
  • the POWER READ and POWER ATTN indication lights of the membrane switches come on.
2.On the MCDU:
On the MCDU screen:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the CIDS 1 indication.
  • The CIDS 1 main menu page comes on.
  • Push the TEST line select key.
  • The CIDS 1 TEST menu comes on.
  • Push the NEXT PAGE key until the READING/WORK LIGHTS display comes on.

  • Push the READING/WORK LIGHTS line select key.
  • The page RDG/WORK LIGHTS TEST comes on.

  • The WAIT FOR RESPONSE display comes on and flashes.

In the cabin:

  • All the cabin attendant work-lights and passenger reading lights come on for approx. 3 s then go off.

On the MCDU screen:

  • The display RDG/WORK LIGHTS ATA 23-73-64 TEST OK comes on.
3.On the MCDU:
On the MCDU screen:
  • Push the MCDU MENU key.
  • The MCDU menu comes on.
4.On the FAP 120RH:
On the FAP 120RH:
  • Push the POWER READ and POWER ATTN membrane switches.
  • The POWER READ and POWER ATTN indication lights of the membrane switches go off.

A. BITE-test of the Cabin Attendant Work-lights and Passenger Reading Lights on Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU) 3CA
   (1) Do this test:

1.On the MCDU:
On the MCDU screen:
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the CIDS 1 indication.
  • The CIDS main menu page comes on.
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the SYSTEM TESTS > indication.
  • The SYSTEM/TESTS menu page comes on.
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the < ILLUMINATION TEST indication.
  • The ILLUMINATION TEST menu page comes on.
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the < START TEST indication.
  • The display TEST IN PROGRESS 5s comes on.

In the cabin:
  • All the passenger reading lights come on for approx. 5s.

On the MCDU screen:
  • The display TEST OK comes on.
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the RETURN indication.
  • The CIDS main menu page comes on.

A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) On the MCDU, set the BRT knob to the OFF position.
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
