Removal of the Ballast Unit, the Lampholder and the Fluorescent Tube
CAUTION:
DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS WITH YOUR FINGERS.
THE OILS FROM YOUR SKIN WILL QUICKLY CAUSE DETERIORATION OF THE LAMP.
IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS, CLEAN IT WITH A LINT-FREE CLOTH.
NOTE: The procedure is the same for all the passenger cabin lighting in Zone 200.

(1) For the ceiling ballast unit and lampholder:
4. Procedure(1) For the ceiling ballast unit and lampholder:
- Put the STEPLADDER 1.0 M (3.3 FT) below the related ceiling panel.
- Remove the related ceiling panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-41-000-001).
- Remove the related cove light panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-48-000-001).
- Put the STEPLADDER 1.0 M (3.3 FT) below the related ceiling panel.
- Remove the related ceiling panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-42-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-42-000-002).
Subtask 33-21-11-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Ballast Unit with Lampholder and the Tube
(1) Remove the tube (2)
(a) Push the buttons (1) at each end of the lampholder (6) and remove the fluorescent tube (2).
(b) Retain the tube (2).
(2) Remove the window ballast unit and lampholder (6)
(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors (3).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Remove the screws (5) and the washers (4).
(d) Remove the ballast unit and lampholder (6) from the airframe structure.
(3) Remove the ceiling and the entrance ballast unit and lampholder (6)
(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors (3).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Remove the screws (8) and the washers (7).
(d) Remove the ballast unit and lampholder (6) from the airframe structure.
Subtask 33-21-11-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the tube (2)
(a) Push the buttons (1) at each end of the lampholder (6) and remove the fluorescent tube (2).
(b) Retain the tube (2).
(2) Remove the window ballast unit and lampholder (6)
(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors (3).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Remove the screws (5) and the washers (4).
(d) Remove the ballast unit and lampholder (6) from the airframe structure.
(3) Remove the ceiling and the entrance ballast unit and lampholder (6)
(a) Disconnect the electrical connectors (3).
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Remove the screws (8) and the washers (7).
(d) Remove the ballast unit and lampholder (6) from the airframe structure.
A. Removal of the Advanced Integrated Ballast-Unit (AIBU) with Lampholder
(1) Identify all electrical connectors (1) before you disconnect them.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
(4) Hold the fluorescent tube (5) and push the buttons (2) at each end of the lampholder (7) to remove the fluorescent tube (5).
(5) Remove the screws (4) and the washers (3).
(6) If installed, remove the reflector (6).
(7) Remove the AIBU with lampholder (7).
(8) Remove the spacers (9):
(a) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
(b) Push the attachment clips (8) and remove the spacers (9) from the AIBU with lampholder (7).
(c) Keep the parts for the subsequent installation procedure.
(1) Identify all electrical connectors (1) before you disconnect them.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
NOTE: If necessary remove and discard the cable ties.
(3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.(4) Hold the fluorescent tube (5) and push the buttons (2) at each end of the lampholder (7) to remove the fluorescent tube (5).
(5) Remove the screws (4) and the washers (3).
(6) If installed, remove the reflector (6).
(7) Remove the AIBU with lampholder (7).
(8) Remove the spacers (9):
(a) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
(b) Push the attachment clips (8) and remove the spacers (9) from the AIBU with lampholder (7).
(c) Keep the parts for the subsequent installation procedure.
