A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-00-861-001).
(3) Procedure to get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/COM Page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-003).

A. BITE-test of the General Illumination on Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU) 3CA
(1) Do this test:

1.On the MCDU:	On the MCDU screen:
Push the line select key adjacent to the CIDS 1 indication.	The CIDS main menu page comes into view.
Push the line select key adjacent to the SYSTEM TESTS indication.	The SYSTEM/TESTS menu page comes into view.
Push the line select key adjacent to the ILLUMINATION TEST indication.	The ILLUMINATION TEST menu page comes into view. NOTE: It is necessary to wait for a minimum of two minutes between the two illumination tests.
Push the line select key adjacent to the START TEST indication.	TEST IN PROGRESS 180s shows on the display.
	In the cabin: All the cabin lights come on for approx. 180s.
	On the MCDU screen: TEST OK shows on the display.
Push the line select key adjacent to the RETURN indication.	The CIDS main menu page comes into view.

(1) Do this test:

(2) Do this test:

Push the line select key adjacent to the ILLUMINATION TEST indication.	The ILLUMINATION TEST menu page comes into view. NOTE: We recommend that you wait for a minimum of two minutes between the two illumination tests.
Push the line select key adjacent to the START TEST indication.	TEST IN PROGRESS 180s shows on the display.
	In the cabin: All the cabin lights come on for approximately 180s.
	On the MCDU screen: TEST OK shows on the display. or If fault 332100 IU SRxx/DEU-A (200RHyy) shows on the display. Do a check of the lightstrip in the handrail at the shown Seat Row (SR). Ignore the fault, if the lightstrip in the handrail works correctly. Do the related troubleshooting procedure, if the lightstrip in the handrail does not work correctly.
Push the line select key adjacent to the RETURN indication.	The CIDS main menu page comes into view.

A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) On the MCDU, set the BRT knob to the OFF position.
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
