3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-11-13-941-055-A

A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the safety devices are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:

make sure that the landing gear control lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.

(4) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the brakes.
(5) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the ground hydraulic services connections to tell persons not to operate:

the Green hydraulic system
the Yellow hydraulic system.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoirs are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

Subtask 32-11-13-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

C. Get Access
(1) Remove the applicable MLG shock absorber (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-13-000-001).
(2) Use the 460006211 LIFTING-TACKLE to install the MLG shock absorber in the 460006212 TROLLEY-BUILD.

4. Procedure
Subtask 32-11-13-020-051-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the MLG Shock-Absorber Gland-Seals
(1) Lift and hold the diaphragm tube assembly (3).
(2) Move the bearing (15) out of its groove to get access to the pins (14) and (17).
(3) Hold the retaining collar (16). Use the 460006409 ASSEMBLY AND EXTRACTION TOOL to remove the pins (14) and (17).
(4) Remove the retaining collar (16).
(5) Remove the upper diaphragm tube assembly (3).
(6) Remove the bearing (15).
(7) Remove the upper bearing housing (18) with the attached parts.
(8) Remove the lower bearing housing (4).
(9) Remove and discard the wiper ring (13).
(10) Remove the internal gland seals:
(a) Remove and discard the seals (8) and (9), the joint seal (11) and the sealing ring (10).
(11) Remove the external gland seals:
(a) Remove and discard the seals (7) and the backing rings (6).
(12) Remove and discard the seals (1) and (2).

Subtask 32-11-13-020-051-H ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the MLG Shock Absorber Gland-Seals
(1) Remove the bearings (4) and (5).
(2) Release the tab-washers (7).
(3) Remove and discard the screws (6) and the tab-washers (7).
(4) Remove and discard the locking-plates (8) from the upper bearing housing (9).
(5) Use the 460007279 SPANNER,PIN to remove the upper bearing housing (9) from the sliding tube assembly (28).
(6) Remove the pins (15) from the two-part stop (10).
(7) Remove the two-part stop (10) from inside the upper bearing housing (9).
(8) Remove the upper diaphragm tube-assembly (3).
(9) Remove the lower bearing housing (20) from the sliding tube assembly (28).
(10) Remove and discard the wiper ring (27).
(11) Remove the internal gland seals as follow:
(a) Remove and discard the seals (18) and (19), the sealing ring (25) and the seal (26).
(12) Remove the external gland seals as follow:
(a) Remove and discard the packings (17) and the packing retainers (16).
(13) Remove and discard the seals (1) and (2).

Subtask 32-11-13-020-051-I ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the MLG Shock Absorber Gland-Seals
(1) Remove the bearings (4) and (5).
(2) Unlock the tab-washers (7).
(3) Remove and discard the screws (6) and the tab-washers (7).
(4) Remove and discard the locking-plates (8) from the upper bearing housing (9).
(5) Use the 460007253 SPANNER-PIN to remove the upper bearing housing (9) from the sliding tube assembly (28).
(6) Remove the pins (15) from the two-part stop (10).
(7) Remove the two-part stop (10) from inside the upper bearing housing (9).
(8) Remove the upper diaphragm tube-assembly (3).
(9) Remove the lower bearing housing (20) from the sliding tube assembly (28).
(10) Remove the internal gland seals:
(a) Remove and discard the seals (18) and (19), the sealing ring (25) and the seal (26).
(11) Remove the external gland seals:
(a) Remove and discard the O-rings (17) and the retainers (16).
(12) Remove and discard the wiper ring (27).
(13) Remove and discard the O-ring (1) and the seal (2).
