B. Installation of the Wiper Arm
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Install the wiper arm (8) on the splined shaft (5) and make sure that the wiper blade (1) is correctly installed (parking position).
   (4) Make sure visually that the wiper blade (1), the wiper arm (8), the stops for the wiper blade in the parking position and the lift block are in the correct position. Make sure that the rubber of the wiper blade (1) is not worn.
   (5) When the wiper is in the parking position on the windshield, the lower edge of the rubber block (3) of the fitting that attaches the wiper blade (1) to the wiper arm (8) must be 8 +5 mm or -4.5 mm (0.31 +0.20 in. or -0.18 in.) from the windshield frame.
   (6) Install the screw (6) and TORQUE to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in ) T and adjust the bolt (7).
Subtask 30-45-52-820-050-A
C. Adjustment of the Wiper Arm with Roller
   (1) Adjustment of the force of the blade on the windshield:

     (d) FOR 307DM
On the panel 21VU, set the CAPT WIPER control switch to SLOW.
FOR 306DM
On the panel 22VU, set the F/O WIPER control switch to SLOW.
     (e) When the wiper arm (8) is in the center position on the windshield, open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):
FOR 307DM
4DB1
FOR 306DM
4DB2.
     (f) Dry the windshield with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
     (g) Put a PAPER - THIN between the wiper blade (1) and the windshield.
     (h) Attach the end of the GAGE - SPRING to the bolt that attaches the wiper blade (1) to the wiper arm (8).
     (i) Pull the ring of the GAGE - SPRING with your hand.
     (j) When the paper starts to move freely, record the value on the GAGE - SPRING.
NOTE: The value on the gage is the wiper arm pressure.
     (k) Make sure that the force necessary to lift the wiper blade (1) from the windshield is 4.5 +0.1 daN or -0.1 daN (10.1164 +0.2248 lbf or -0.2248 lbf).
