A. Installation of the Anti-ice Ducts
(2) Lubricate the bolts (110) with Grease-Thread Anti-seize Graphited and Petrolatum - (Material No.03LBB1) .
(3) Attach the upper anti-ice duct (90) to the engine with the new AIPC 30-21-49-01-060 SEAL (115) and the bolts (110). Tighten the bolts sufficiently to hold the duct on the engine.
(4) Connect the rear anti-ice duct (85) to the upper anti-ice duct (90) with the new AIPC 30-21-49-01-070 SEAL (75) and the coupling (70). Tighten the coupling sufficiently to hold the ducts together.
(5) Attach the flange that is on the rear anti-ice duct (85) to the fireshield with the bolts (95), the washers (100) and the nuts (105). Tighten the bolts sufficiently to hold the duct to the fireshield.
(6) Use the new AIPC 30-21-49-01-070 SEAL (75) and the couplings (70) to connect the forward anti-ice duct (80) to:
(a) the rear anti-ice duct (85),
(b) the anti-ice valve 4000DN (5).
(7) Tighten the couplings sufficiently to hold the ducts and the valve together.
(8) Attach the support links to the bracket of the forward anti-ice duct (80) with the bolts (55), the washers (60), and the nuts (65). Tighten the bolts sufficiently to hold the support links to the bracket.
(9) TORQUE the bolts (110) that connect the upper anti-ice duct (90) to the engine port to between 170 and 124 lbf.in (1.92 and 1.40 m.daN )
. Safety the bolts with CP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia .
(10) TORQUE the bolts (95) that attach the flange of the rear anti-ice duct (85) to the fireshield to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN )
.
(11) If the coupling (70) is of the type shown on
try to move the slide. If the slide moves, open the coupling. Close the coupling so that the saddle washer is in the recess of the other half of the coupling. If the slide does not move, replace the coupling (70).
(12) Torque the nut on the couplings (70) to the value shown on the face of the coupling. Tap hit the coupling perimeters with a hammer not made of metal. Torque the nuts on the couplings again to the same value and tap hit the coupling perimeters again. Do this procedure again, then torque the nuts to the same value.
(13) Torque the nut on the couplings (70) to the value shown on the face of the coupling. Tap hit the coupling perimeters with a hammer not made of metal. Torque the nuts on the couplings again to the same value and tap hit the coupling perimeters again. Do this procedure again, then torque the nuts to the same value.
(14) Adjust the support links as is necessary until the ducts and the links are not preloaded.
(15) TORQUE the support link bolts (55) to between 140 and 100 lbf.in (1.58 and 1.13 m.daN )
. Safety the links with CP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia .
(16) Connect the tube (15) to the hose (35).
(17) Connect the hose (10) to the tube (15) and the valve (5).
(18) TORQUE the couplings to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )
.
Subtask 30-21-49-790-067-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THE LATCH AND HINGE OF THE COUPLING DO NOT TOUCH ADJACENT COMPONENTS OR COWL DOORS (WHEN CLOSED). DO NOT USE FORCE TO ENGAGE THE SADDLE WASHER IN THE RECESS OF THE OTHER COUPLING HALF. DAMAGE TO COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
TWO TYPES OF COUPLINGS ARE USED ON THE BLEED AIR DUCTS. IT IS POSSIBLE TO INSTALL ONE OF THESE TYPES INCORRECTLY. WHEN YOU INSTALL THIS TYPE OF COUPLING, MAKE SURE THE SLIDE PART OF THE COUPLING (WITH THE SADDLE WASHER) ENGAGES THE RECESSES OF THE OTHER HALF OF THE COUPLING. IF THE COUPLING IS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY, IT CAN DISENGAGE AND CAUSE LARGE AIR LEAKS AND POSSIBLE DAMAGE.
(1) Remove the blanking plugs from the ducts. (2) Lubricate the bolts (110) with Grease-Thread Anti-seize Graphited and Petrolatum - (Material No.03LBB1) .
