A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

4. Procedure
Subtask 30-21-11-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Nacelle Anti-Ice (NAI) Pressure Sensors and Sense Lines
   (1) Remove all COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
   (2) Install the tube (54) as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the coupling nuts and of the ferrules on the tube (54) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Put the tube (54) in position on the NAI tube (53) and connect the coupling nut to the NAI tube (53) hand-tight.
     (c) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the tube (54) to the NAI tube (53)
to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft ) T.
   (3) Install the tube (51) as follows:
     (a) Put the tube (51) in position on the tube (54) and adjacent to the brackets (31), (33) and (34). Then connect the coupling nut on the tube (54) to the tube (51) hand-tight.
     (b) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (30), (32) and (35) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (c) Install the bolt (30) to attach the P-clamp (29) and the tube (51) to the bracket (31).
     (d) Install the bolt (32) to attach the P-clamp (52) and the tube (51) to the bracket (33).
     (e) Install the bolt (35) to attach the P-clamp (50) and the tube (51) to the bracket (34).
     (f) Put the P-clamps (29), (50) and (52) in position to hold the tube (51) with the minimum possible force on the tube (51).
     (g) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the tube (54) to the tube (51) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft ) T.
     (h) TORQUE the bolts (30), (32) and (35) to between 0.67 and 0.58 m.daN (59.29 and 51.33 lbf.in )
T.
   (4) Install the drain line (70) onto the High Pressure Turbine (HPT) case as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the tube (88), drain-pylon tube (89), B-nuts (71) and (72) on the drain line (70) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Put the B-nut (72) in position on the drain-pylon tube (89) and tighten it with your hand. Put the B-nut (71) in position on the tube (88) and tighten it with your hand.
     (c) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (73), (76) and (79) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (d) Put the drain line (70) on the HPT case between the 8:15 and 11:30 position, aft looking forward.
     (e) Install the bolt (73) to attach the P-clamp (74) and the drain line (70) on the support bracket (75).
     (f) Install the bolt (76) to attach the P-clamp (77) and the drain line (70) on the support bracket (78).
     (g) Install the bolt (79) to attach the P-clamp (80) and the drain line (70) on the support bracket (81).
     (h) TORQUE the B-nuts (71) and (72) that connect the drain line (70) to the tube (88) and the drain-pylon tube (89) to between 6.10 and 5.20 m.daN (44.99 and 38.35 lbf.ft ) T.
     (i) TORQUE the bolts (73), (76) and (79) to between 0.67 and 0.58 m.daN (59.29 and 51.33 lbf.in )
T.
   (5) Install the Low Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control (LPTACC) support bracket (66) as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (67), (68) and (69) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Install the two bolts (67) to attach the LPTACC support bracket (66).
     (c) Install the bolt (68) to attach the LPTACC support bracket (66).
     (d) Install the bolt (69) to attach the LPTACC support bracket (66).
     (e) TORQUE the bolts (67), (68) and (69) to between 1.40 and 1.19 m.daN (123.89 and 105.31 lbf.in ) T.
   (6) Install the wye aft valve LPTACC duct (58) as follows:
     (a) Put the hose clamps (60) and (61) in position on the LPTACC duct (58).
     (b) Put and hold the LPTACC duct (58) in position between the LPTACC valve (84) and the air ducts (86) and (85).
     (c) Connect the LPTACC duct (58) to the air duct (86) with hose clamp (61) and to the air duct (85) with hose clamp (60) and tighten the clamps with your hand.
     (d) Connect the LPTACC duct (58) to the LPTACC valve (84) with the hose clamp (59).
     (e) Make sure that the LPTACC duct (58) is not under strain.
     (f) TORQUE the bolts of the hose clamps (60), (61) and (59) to between 0.41 and 0.38 m.daN (36.28 and 33.63 lbf.in )
T.
   (7) Install the elbow duct (55) as follows:
     (a) Put the hose clamps (56) and (57) in position on the elbow duct (55).
     (b) Put the elbow duct (55) between the valve (82) and the High Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control (HPTACC) air manifold (83).
     (c) Connect the elbow duct (55) to the valve (82) with the hose clamp (56) and to the HPTACC air manifold (83) with the hose clamp (57) and tighten the clamps with your hand.
     (d) TORQUE the bolts of the hose clamps (56) and (57) to between 0.41 and 0.38 m.daN (36.28 and 33.63 lbf.in )
T.
   (8) Install the tube (49) as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the coupling nuts and the ferrules on the tube (49) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (37) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (c) Put the tube (49) in position on the tube (51) and adjacent to the bracket (36), then connect the coupling nut on the tube (49) to the tube (51) hand-tight.
     (d) Install the bolt (37) to attach the P-clamp (48) and the tube (49) to the bracket (36).
     (e) Put the P-clamp (48) in position to hold the tube (49) with the minimum possible force on the tube (49).
     (f) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the tube (49) to the tube (51) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft ) T.
     (g) TORQUE the bolt (37) to between 0.76 and 0.64 m.daN (67.26 and 56.64 lbf.in )
T.
   (9) Install the tube (40) as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the coupling nut and the ferrules on the tube (40) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (39) and (45) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (c) Put the tube (40) in position on the tube (49) and adjacent to the brackets (38) and (44). Then, connect the coupling nut on the tube (49) to the tube (40) hand-tight.
     (d) Install the bolt (39) to attach the P-clamp (47) and the tube (40) to the bracket (38).
     (e) Install the bolt (45) to attach the P-clamp (46) and the tube (40) to the bracket (44).
     (f) Put the P-clamps (46) and (47) in position to hold the tube (40) with the minimum possible force on the tube.
     (g) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the tube (49) to the tube (40) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft ) T.
     (h) TORQUE the bolts (39) and (45) to between 0.76 and 0.64 m.daN (67.26 and 56.64 lbf.in )
T.
   (10) Install the tube (28) as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the coupling nut and the ferrules on the tube (28) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (41) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (c) Put the tube (28) in position on the tube (40) and adjacent to the bracket (41). Then, connect the coupling nut on the tube (40) to the tube (28) hand-tight.
     (d) Install the bolt (42) to attach the P-clamp (43) and the tube (28) to the bracket (41).
     (e) Put the P-clamp (43) in position to hold the tube (28) with the minimum possible force on the tube (28).
     (f) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the tube (40) to the tube (28) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft ) T.
     (g) TORQUE the bolt (42) to between 0.38 and 0.32 m.daN (33.63 and 28.32 lbf.in )
T.
   (11) Install the tube (18) as follows:
     (a) Put the tube (18) in position on the tube (28) and adjacent to the brackets (21) and (27). Then connect the coupling nut on the tube (28) to the tube (18) hand-tight.
     (b) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (23), (25) and (26) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (c) Install the bolt (23) to attach the P-clamp (22) and the tube (18) to the bracket (21).
     (d) Install the bolt (25) to attach the P-clamp (24) and the tube (18) to the bracket (21).
     (e) Install the bolt (26) to attach the integral bracket on the tube (18) to the bracket (27).
     (f) Put the P-clamps (22) and (24) in position to hold the tube (18) with the minimum possible force on the tube (18).
     (g) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the tube (28) to the tube (18) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft ) T.
     (h) TORQUE the bolts (25), (23) to between 0.38 and 0.32 m.daN (33.63 and 28.32 lbf.in )
T.
     (i) TORQUE the bolt (26) to between 0.43 and 0.37 m.daN (38.05 and 32.74 lbf.in )
T.
     (j) Apply the seal with silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.
CPNCL00963) (MIL-A-46106 GROUP III TYPE I RTV106) around interface between the tube (18) and the bracket (27). Make the seal smooth before it becomes dry.
   (12) Install the aft nacelle anti-ice pressure sensor (sensor) (11) as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the two bolts (10) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Put the sensor (11) in position adjacent to the bracket (19).
     (c) Install the two bolts (10) that attach the sensor (11) to the bracket (19).
     (d) TORQUE the two bolts (10) to between 1.43 and 1.23 m.daN (126.55 and 108.85 lbf.in ) T.
   (13) Install the tube (12) as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the coupling nuts and the ferrules on tube the (12) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (14) and (15) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (c) Put the tube (12) in position on the sensor (11) and the tube (18) and adjacent to the bracket (17). Then, connect the coupling nuts on the tube (12) to the sensor (11) and the tube (18) hand-tight.
     (d) Install the bolt (15) to attach the P-clamp (16) and the tube (12) to the bracket (17).
     (e) Install the bolt (14) to attach the P-clamp (13) to the bracket (19).
     (f) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the tube (12) to the tube (18) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft ) T.
     (g) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the tube (12) to the sensor (11)
to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft )
T.
     (h) TORQUE the bolts (14) and (15) to between 0.79 and 0.68 m.daN (69.91 and 60.18 lbf.in )
T.
   (14) Connect the electrical connector (20) to the sensor (11) as follows:
     (a) Examination of each connector and the mating receptacle
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND MATING RECEPTACLE ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE A MALFUNCTION OF THE THRUST REVERSER.
       1 Examine each connector and the mating receptacle. Clean the pins and mating sockets if you see signs of contamination
ESPM 2055500.
     (b) Engage the connector with the receptacle and align the key with the keyway.
     (c) Push the connector onto the receptacle with side-to-side pressure while you manually tighten the knurled ring.
     (d) Tighten the knurled ring.
CAUTION: USE ONLY SOFT-JAW PLIERS. METAL-JAW PLIERS CAN MAKE THE ELECTRICAL CABLE UNSERVICEABLE.
       1 Tighten the knurled ring with your fingers or with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT until you can no longer see the blue ring.
     (e) Apply side-to-side pressure to the backshell to make sure that each of the connectors is not loose.
   (15) Install the forward NAI pressure sensor (sensor) (7) as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the two bolts (6) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Put the sensor (7) in position adjacent to the bracket (9).
     (c) Install the two bolts (6) that attach the sensor (7) to the bracket (9).
     (d) TORQUE the two bolts (6) to between 1.43 and 1.23 m.daN (126.55 and 108.85 lbf.in ) T.
   (16) Install the tube (4) as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the coupling nuts and the ferrules on the tube (4) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (3) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (c) Put the tube (4) in position on the sensor (7) and the NAI duct (2) and adjacent to the bracket (1). Then, connect the coupling nuts on the tube (4) to the sensor (7) and the NAI duct (2) hand-tight.
     (d) Install the bolt (3) to attach the P-clamp (5) and the tube (4) to the bracket (1).
     (e) Put the P-clamp (5) in position to hold the tube (4) with the minimum possible force on the tube (4).
     (f) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the tube (4) to the NAI duct (2)
to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft ) T.
     (g) TORQUE the coupling nut that connects the tube (4) to the sensor (7) to between 3.48 and 2.96 m.daN (25.66 and 21.83 lbf.ft )
T.
     (h) TORQUE the bolt (3) to between 0.79 and 0.68 m.daN (69.91 and 60.18 lbf.in )
T.
   (17) Connect the electrical connector (8) to the sensor (7) as follows:
     (a) Examination of each connector
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND MATING RECEPTACLE ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE A MALFUNCTION OF THE THRUST REVERSER.
       1 Examine each connector and the mating receptacle. Clean the pins and mating sockets if you see signs of contamination

     (b) Engage the connector with the receptacle and align the key with the keyway.
     (c) Push the connector onto the receptacle with side-to-side pressure while you manually tighten the knurled ring.
     (d) Tighten the knurled ring.
CAUTION: USE ONLY SOFT-JAW PLIERS. METAL-JAW PLIERS CAN MAKE THE ELECTRICAL CABLE UNSERVICEABLE.
       1 Tighten the knurled ring with your fingers or with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT until you can no longer see the blue ring.
     (e) Apply side-to-side pressure to the backshell to make sure that each of the connectors is not loose.
