Installation of the RAT Delta Pressure Indicator
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Make sure that the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
(6) Make sure that the RAT is extended (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-005).
Subtask 29-22-51-865-101-A WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002). (2) Make sure that the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
- in the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
- on the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
(6) Make sure that the RAT is extended (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-005).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

Subtask 29-22-51-420-067-A
A. Installation of the Delta Pressure Indicator
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Acetone - (Material No.08BBH1) to clean the delta pressure indicator (3).
(a) Wait for minimum of five minutes.
(4) Install the new AIPC 29-22-51-01-410 DUST COVER (2) on the delta pressure indicator (3).
(5) Install the new AIPC 29-22-51-01-420 SHRINK TUBE (1) on the delta pressure indicator (3).
(7) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new AIPC 29-22-51-01-250 PACKING (4) and AIPC 29-22-51-01-260 PACKING (5).
(8) Install the packings (4) and (5) on the delta pressure indicator (3).
(9) Remove the blanking cap from the RAT hydraulic pump housing (6).
(10) Install the delta pressure indicator (3).
(11) TORQUE the delta pressure indicator (3) to between 11.2 and 9.1 m.N (99.12 and 80.53 lbf.in ).
Subtask 29-22-51-865-102-A (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Acetone - (Material No.08BBH1) to clean the delta pressure indicator (3).

(4) Install the new AIPC 29-22-51-01-410 DUST COVER (2) on the delta pressure indicator (3).
(5) Install the new AIPC 29-22-51-01-420 SHRINK TUBE (1) on the delta pressure indicator (3).
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE A HEATER TO ASSEMBLE PARTS. USE GLOVES WHEN YOU TOUCH OR LIFT THE HEATER OR THE PARTS. THE HEATER OR THE PARTS CAN BE HOT AND CAUSE BURNS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, INJURY TO PERSONNEL CAN OCCUR.
(6) Use a HOT AIR BLOWER OPERATING 40 DEG C(104 F) to put the shrink tube (1) on the delta pressure indicator (3) correctly. (7) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new AIPC 29-22-51-01-250 PACKING (4) and AIPC 29-22-51-01-260 PACKING (5).
(8) Install the packings (4) and (5) on the delta pressure indicator (3).
(9) Remove the blanking cap from the RAT hydraulic pump housing (6).
(10) Install the delta pressure indicator (3).
(11) TORQUE the delta pressure indicator (3) to between 11.2 and 9.1 m.N (99.12 and 80.53 lbf.in )
. B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Pressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(3) Pressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-003).
(4) Examine the connection of the delta pressure indicator (1) and the RAT hydraulic pump housing (4) and make sure that there is no leak.
(6) Depressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
Subtask 29-22-51-710-058-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Pressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(3) Pressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-003).
(4) Examine the connection of the delta pressure indicator (1) and the RAT hydraulic pump housing (4) and make sure that there is no leak.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE RAT TRAVEL RANGE IS CLEAR BEFORE YOU EXTEND/RETRACT THE RAT.
(5) Retract the RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-006). (6) Depressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
D. Test
(1) Do the operational test of the manual deployment and the retraction of the RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-710-007).
(2) Make sure that the delta pressure indicator (1) stays in the retracted position.

A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
