3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-14-49-860-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
   (2) Depressurize the hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Open access doors 197CB, 197EB and 198CB:
     (a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems:
  • On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
  • On the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
  • On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
   (4) Open access door 195BB:
     (a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic reservoirs.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
  • Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (OFF legend on).
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
   (3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
  • Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems.
   (4) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
   (5) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
  • Put the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION in position on the flap/slat control lever.
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
   (6) On the HP ground connectors:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

E. Get Access
   (1) Open the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the left pylon.
   (3) Remove the pylon lateral access-doors that follow (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-802):
     (a) For the left pylon: 415AL 415BL 415BR 415CR.

F. Remove the rear pylon fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-802).
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-14-49-020-054-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Reservoir Pressurization Tubes in the Pylon
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
   (1) Disconnect the convoluted bleed hose (28) from the tube (2).
   (2) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (3) Remove the bolts (27) and washers (26).
   (4) Hold the union of the tube (1) with a WRENCH - STANDARD.
   (5) Disconnect the tube (2) from the tube (1).
   (6) Remove the bolts (5), washers (4) and clamps (3).
   (7) Remove the bolt (23), washer (24) and clamp (25).
   (8) Remove the support arm (20).
     (a) Remove the bolt (22) and washer (21).
   (9) Remove the bolts (15), washers (14) and self-locking nuts (19) from the half-clamp blocks (12) and (13).
   (10) Remove the bolts (16) and washers (17).
   (11) Remove the two half-clamp blocks (12) and (13).
   (12) Remove the tube (2) from the pylon with the related bush (18).
   (13) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (14) Disconnect the tube (1) from the pylon/wing interface.
   (15) Retain the spacers (9) and (10).
   (16) Remove the bolt (6), washer (7), nut (11) and clamp (8).
   (17) Install the bolt (6), washer (7) and nut (11) with the spacers (9) and (10).
   (18) Tighten the nut (11).
   (19) Remove the tube (1) from the pylon.
   (20) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
