3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-13-38-860-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) On the ground service panel 198CB, Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position on access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir.
   (5) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at engine 2.
   (6) Make sure that the left fan-cowl door 447AL is open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010).
   (7) Make sure that access door 195BB is open.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 2 shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) In the cockpit, on the HYD section of the HYD/FUEL panel 40VU:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
   (4) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (5) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the fluid disconnect panel to collect the hydraulic fluid.

4. Procedure

C. Operational Test
   (1) Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (2) Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-002).
   (3) Do the operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002).
   (4) During the dry motoring, make sure that there are no leaks from the connections.
   (5) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Yellow reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
NOTE: There must be between 14 and 16 liters of hydraulic fluid in the Yellow reservoir. If not, the level of the fluid can decrease too much if the bleeding is not correct.
   (6) Remove the CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) and the absorbent material.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Close the left fan-cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
   (5) Close access door 195BB.
