Removal of the Self Sealing Half-Coupling of the Green Pump Suction


WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

Subtask 29-11-39-860-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (3) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) hydraulic system:
  • On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic-system access-door 197CB.
   (5) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the hydraulic-reservoir pressurization access-door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Green Hydraulic reservoir.
Subtask 29-11-39-941-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • In the cockpit, on the HYD section of the HYD/FUEL panel 40VU.
   (4) On the maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (5) Put a CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) below the connection between the pressure hose (1) and the fluid disconnect panel (6) to collect the fluid.

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the left fan-cowl door 437AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the engine 1.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-39-020-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Self Sealing Half-Coupling of the Green Pump Suction
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
  • ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
  • ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
   (1) Disconnect the hose (1) from the self sealing half-coupling (4).
   (2) Remove and discard the teflon retained ring (2) and the O-ring (3) from the self sealing half-coupling (4).
   (3) Remove the self sealing half-coupling (4) from the fluid disconnect panel (6).
   (4) Remove and discard the O-ring (5) from the self sealing half-coupling (4).
   (5) Put a PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected hose (1) and the panel (6).
