A. Energize the ground service network (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the access door 824.
   (2) Open the access door 824.

C. Removal of the Duct
   (1) Remove the avionics compartment smoke detector (Ref. AMM TASK 26-15-15-000-001).
   (2) Remove the duct (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-41-000-002).
4. Procedure

A. Cleaning of the Piccolo Tubes
WARNING: WHEN YOU USE COMPRESSED AIR:
  • USE THE CORRECT PROTECTION (FACE SHIELD OR GOGGLES)
  • DO NOT POINT THE AIRFLOW AT YOURSELF OR OTHER PERSONS.
LOOSE PARTICLES AND/OR HIGH PRESSURE AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY.
   (1) Make sure that the output tubes have no blockage. If necessary clean the output tubes with compressed air.
   (2) Use an AIR SOURCE 0.3 TO 0.7 BAR (5 TO 10 PSI)- FILTERED, DRY to clean the piccolo tubes.
   (3) Make sure that the piccolo tubes are in the correct condition and that there is no unwanted material in the duct.

A. Installation of the Duct
   (1) Install the duct (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-41-400-002).
   (2) Install the avionics compartment smoke detector (Ref. AMM TASK 26-15-15-400-001).

B. Operational Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the avionics smoke detection system from the Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU) (Ref. AMM TASK 26-15-00-710-001).

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

D. De-energize the ground service network (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
