3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 32-31-00-700-059-A
A. Test
NOTE: The messages that follow can be shown if the landing gear free-fall system has been used:
  • L/G DOORS NOT CLOSED
  • L/G GEAR NOT UPLOCKED
  • CFDS fault message 323173 R L/G DOOR CLOSED PROX SNSR 27GA TGT POS.
    If one or more of these messages are shown when the free-fall system has been used:
  • Find the cause of the free-fall system use and troubleshoot this problem first.
   (1) If the PFR shows the ECAM message(s):
  • L/G GEAR NOT DOWNLOCKED
    and/or
  • L/G GEAR NOT UPLOCKED
    and/or
    and/or
  • L/G DOORS NOT CLOSED.
     (a) Do a check of the PFR for Green hydraulic or landing gear extension/retraction related faults:
       1 If a fault is found:
         a Correct the fault and go to step (b).
       2 If no fault is found:
         a Continue the troubleshooting procedure.
     (b) Get access to the troubleshooting data from the LGCIUs:
       1 Get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/L/G page AMM 31-32-00-860-009.
       2 On the MCDU, at the LGCIU main menu:
         a Press the TROUBLE SHOOT DATA line key.
         b Press the NEXT PAGE key to go to the flight TSD.
         c Make a record of the fault code(s) shown.
       3 Troubleshoot the fault code(s) shown that occurred on the last flight 32-31-00-03 TSM TASK 32-31-00-03.
       4 If a fault code refers to this task:
         a Go to Para. A. of Fault Isolation.
       5 If there is no information related to the last flight:
         a Continue the troubleshooting procedure.
   (2) Do the Operational Test of the Landing Gear Doors AMM 32-31-00-710-002 or AMM 32-31-00-710-002. The time taken for the doors to travel from fully open to fully closed must be less than 3 seconds:
     (a) If all the doors operate correctly:
       1 Do the Functional Test of the Normal Extension and Retraction System AMM 32-31-00-720-002:
         a If the doors operate correctly but the gears are slow to operate:
  • Go to Para. B. of Fault Isolation, step (3).
     (b) If the fault is with only one door:
       1 Do the applicable procedure:
         a For an NLG door, do the applicable TSM procedure:
         b For an MLG door, do the applicable TSM procedure:
     (c) If all the doors do not operate correctly:
       1 Do a check of the System Display (Wheel Page). Make sure that all the doors show fully open:
         a If all the doors do not show fully open:
  • Go to Para. B. of Fault Isolation.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 32-31-00-810-161-A
A. If a fault code referred to this TSM task:
   (1) Replace the LGCIU-1 [5GA1] or the LGCIU-2 [5GA2] related to the fault message AMM 32-31-71-000-001 and AMM 32-31-71-400-001.
   (2) Do the test(s) given in the Para. Fault Confirmation.
Subtask 32-31-00-810-162-A
B. If all the doors do not show fully open, or if the fault continues:
   (1) If all the doors did not operate correctly:
     (a) Do a check for internal leakage of the Green hydraulic system AMM 29-00-00-280-001:
       1 If you find hydraulic leaks :
         a Do the procedure AMM 29-00-00-280-001 to identify faulty component(s). Replace the faulty component(s).
         b Do the test(s) given in the Para. Fault Confirmation.
   (2) If the fault continues:
     (a) Replace the [41GA] AMM 32-31-34-000-001 and AMM 32-31-34-400-001.
     (b) Do the test(s) given in the Para. Fault Confirmation.
   (3) If the fault continues:
     (a) Replace the MANIFOLD ASSY-L/G AND DOOR SELECTOR VALVES [2524GM] AMM 32-31-31-000-001 AMM 32-31-32-000-001 and AMM 32-31-31-400-001 AMM 32-31-32-400-001.
     (b) Do the test(s) given in the Para. Fault Confirmation.
   (4) If the fault continues:
     (a) Replace the [40GA] AMM 32-31-12-000-001 and AMM 32-31-12-400-001.
     (b) Do the test(s) given in the Para. Fault Confirmation.
   (5) If the fault continues:
     (a) Do the Operational Check of the SAFETY VALVE-L/G SYS ISOLATION [49GA] AMM 32-31-00-710-005. Make sure that the safety valve opens at less than 260 knots:
       1 If the safety valve does not operate correctly:
         a Replace the SAFETY VALVE-L/G SYS ISOLATION [49GA] AMM 32-31-17-000-001 and AMM 32-31-17-400-001.
         b Do the test(s) given in the Para. Fault Confirmation.
   (6) If the fault continues:
     (a) Replace the CUT OUT VALVE-L/G FREE FALL [2515GM] AMM 32-33-12-000-001 and AMM 32-33-12-400-001.
     (b) Do the test(s) given in the Para. Fault Confirmation.
   (7) If the fault continues:
     (a) Do a check of the aircraft wiring between the:
  • LGCIU-1 [5GA1] , connector AA pin 1D and the [41GA] , connector A, pin E
  • LGCIU-1 [5GA1] , connector AA pin 1C and the [41GA] , connector A, pin C
  • LGCIU-1 [5GA1] , connector AA pin 1A and the [41GA] , connector A, pin B
  • LGCIU-1 [5GA1] , connector AA pin 1B and the [41GA] , connector A, pin F
    ASM 323100.
     (b) Do a check of the aircraft wiring between the:
  • LGCIU-2 [5GA2] , connector AA, pin 1D and the [41GA] , connector B, pin E
  • LGCIU-2 [5GA2] , connector AA, pin 1C and the [41GA] , connector B, pin C
  • LGCIU-2 [5GA2] , connector AA, pin 1A and the [41GA] , connector B, pin B
  • LGCIU-2 [5GA2] , connector AA, pin 1B and the [41GA] , connector B, pin F
    ASM 323100.
     (c) Repair all the unserviceable wiring and connectors ESPM 2053000.
   (8) Do the Functional Test of the Normal Extension and Retraction System AMM 32-31-00-720-002.
   (9) If the fault continues:
     (a) Do a check of the aircraft wiring between the:
  • LGCIU-1 [5GA1] , connector AA, pin 1G and the [40GA] , connector A, pin B
  • LGCIU-1 [5GA1] , connector AA, pin 1H and the [40GA] , connector A, pin C
  • LGCIU-1 [5GA1] , connector AA, pin 1K and the [40GA] , connector A, pin D
  • LGCIU-1 [5GA1] , connector AA, pin 1J and the [40GA] , connector A, pin E
    ASM 323100.
     (b) Do a check of the aircraft wiring between the:
  • LGCIU-2 [5GA2] , connector AA, pin 1G and the [40GA] , connector B, pin B
  • LGCIU-2 [5GA2] , connector AA, pin 1H and the [40GA] , connector B, pin C
  • LGCIU-2 [5GA2] , connector AA, pin 1K and the [40GA] , connector B, pin D
  • LGCIU-2 [5GA2] , connector AA, pin 1J and the [40GA] , connector B, pin E
    ASM 323100.
     (c) Repair all the unserviceable wiring and connectors ESPM 2053000.
     (d) Do the test(s) given in the Para. Fault Confirmation.
   (10) If the fault continues:
NOTE: The subsequent steps are to find if the cause of the fault is the LGCIU-1 [5GA1] or the LGCIU-2 [5GA2] .
     (a) Remove the LGCIU-2 [5GA2] AMM 32-31-71-000-001.
     (b) Do the Functional Test of the Normal Extension and Retraction System AMM 32-31-00-720-002:
       1 If the landing gear operates correctly:
         a Install a new LGCIU-2 [5GA2] AMM 32-31-71-400-001.
         b Do the Functional Test of the Normal Extension and Retraction System AMM 32-31-00-720-002.
       2 If the landing gear does not operate correctly:
         a Continue the troubleshooting procedure.
     (c) Interchange the LGCIU-1 [5GA1] with the LGCIU-2 [5GA2] . Do not install the LGCIU-1 [5GA1] in this step:
       1 Remove the LGCIU-1 [5GA1] AMM 32-31-71-000-001.
       2 Install the LGCIU-2 [5GA2] AMM 32-31-71-400-001 in the LGCIU-1 [5GA1] position.
NOTE: The LGCIU-1 [5GA1] is not installed as it can be the source of the fault.
     (d) Do the Functional Test of the Normal Extension and Retraction System AMM 32-31-00-720-002:
       1 If the landing gear operates correctly:
         a Put the LGCIU-2 [5GA2] in the correct position AMM 32-31-71-000-001 and AMM 32-31-71-400-001.
         b Install a new LGCIU-1 [5GA1] AMM 32-31-71-400-001.
         c Do the Functional Test of the Normal Extension and Retraction System AMM 32-31-00-720-002.
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
