3. Job Set-up
Subtask 79-11-05-941-053-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 79-11-05-960-050-A
A. Replacement of the Remote Filling/Self Plugging Union
WARNING: USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the oil tank (1).
   (2) Drain the oil tank (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-808).
   (3) Removal of the plug (3) and the plug (5):
     (a) Cut and remove the safetywire from the plug (3).
     (b) Remove the plug (3) from the oil tank (1).
     (c) Remove and discard the O-ring (4) from plug (3).
     (d) Remove the plug (5) from the oil tank (1).
     (e) Remove and discard the O-ring (6) from plug (5).
   (4) Installation of the plug (7), block head coupling (8), plug (11) and the block head coupling (12):
     (a) Make sure that the mating faces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
     (b) Lubricate the threads of the block head coupling (8), block head coupling (12), the O-ring (9) and the O-ring (13) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
     (c) Install the new EIPC 72-00-00-81-060 O-RING (9) in the grooves of the block head coupling (8).
     (d) Install the block head coupling (8) in the over flow port (upper opening) on the oil tank (1) and tighten with your hand.
     (e) TORQUE the block head coupling (8) to between 304.5 and 275.5 lbf.in (3.44 and 3.11 m.daN )
T.
     (f) Install the
EIPC 72-00-00-81-050 PLUG (7) with the lanyard (10) on the block head coupling (8).
     (g) Attach the lanyard (10) to the oil cap assembly (2).
     (h) Install the new
EIPC 72-00-00-81-030 O-RING (13) in the grooves of the block head coupling (12).
     (i) Install the block head coupling (12) in the pressure filling port (lower opening) on the oil tank (1) and tighten with your hand.
     (j) TORQUE the block head coupling (12) to between 220.5 and 199.5 lbf.in (2.49 and 2.25 m.daN )
T.
     (k) Install the new
EIPC 72-00-00-81-020 PLUG (11) with the lanyard (14) on the block head coupling (12).
     (l) Attach the lanyard (14) to the oil cap assembly (2).
   (5) Replenish the oil tank (
Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-806).
   (6) Remove the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) tank kept below the oil tank (1).

   (1) Do the idle leak check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-815).

   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
