B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

C. Depressurization of the Hydraulic System
WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU DEPRESSURIZED THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. IF YOU LOOSEN A HYDRAULIC TUBE FITTING WHEN THERE IS PRESSURE IN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, YOU CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
     (a) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
     (b) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (2) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
     (a) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
     (b) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

E. Get Access
   (1) Open the applicable thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
461AL 462AR.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-37-01-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the TRAS Track Lock
WARNING: THE TRAS TRACK LOCK VALVE (TLV) CAN CONTAIN HYDRAULIC FLUID. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE TRAS TRACK LOCK VALVE.
WARNING: YOU MUST NOT GET HYDRAULIC FLUID ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR EYES OR IN YOUR MOUTH. THE HYDRAULIC FLUID IS POISONOUS AND CAN BE ABSORBED INTO YOUR BODY. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY GET HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR EYES, MOUTH OR ON YOUR SKIN, FLUSH WITH WATER AND GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION: HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT. IF HYDRAULIC FLUID FALLS ON A SURFACE, IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE SURFACE WITH A CLEAN CLOTH.
CAUTION: USE TEFLON-JAWED PLIERS TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE METAL-JAWED PLIERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN TWIST THE TUBES OR HOSES OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
   (1) Remove the TRAS track lock (1) from the left thrust reverser door.
F LH TRAS Track Lock ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Remove the track lock cover (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-38-000-801).
     (b) Disconnect the TRAS monitoring harness (4038KS-A) and (4046KS-A) from the TRAS track lock (1).
     (c) Install CAP - PROTECTION on the TRAS monitoring harness connectors and the TRAS track lock (1).
     (d) Put CLOTH - PROTECTIVE under the TRAS track lock (1) to collect the remaining hydraulic fluid.
     (e) Disconnect the control tube, aft return tube, and return tube from the TRAS track lock (1).
     (f) Install CAP - PROTECTION on the control tube, aft return tube, return tube and the TRAS track lock (1).
     (g) Remove the bolt (4), washers (2) and (3) and the grounding strap from the TRAS track lock (1).

     (h) Remove the three bolts (6) and three washers (5) that attach the TRAS track lock (1) to the latch beam.

     (i) Do the following:
       1 Remove the bolt (6) that attaches the pin guard (7) and the TRAS track lock (1) to the latch beam.
       2 Remove the two bolts (6) and two washers (5) that attach the TRAS track lock (1) to the latch beam.

     (j) Carefully remove the TRAS track lock (1) from the latch beam.
   (2) Remove the TRAS track lock (11) from the right thrust reverser door.
F RH TRAS Track Lock ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Remove the track lock cover (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-38-000-801).
     (b) Disconnect the TRAS monitoring harness (4039KS-A) and (4047KS-A) from the TRAS track lock (11).
     (c) Install CAP - PROTECTION on the TRAS monitoring harness connectors and the TRAS track lock (11).
     (d) Put CLOTH - PROTECTIVE under the TRAS track lock (11) to collect the remaining hydraulic fluid.
     (e) Disconnect the control tube, aft return tube and return tube from the TRAS track lock (11).
     (f) Install CAP - PROTECTION on the control tube, aft return tube, return tube and TRAS track lock (11).
     (g) Remove the bolt (16), washers (14) and (15) and grounding strap from the TRAS track lock (11).

     (h) Remove the three bolts (13) and the three washers (12) that attach the TRAS track lock (11) to the latch beam.

     (i) Do the following:
       1 Remove the bolt (13) that attaches the pin guard (17) and the TRAS track lock (11) to the latch beam.
       2 Remove the two bolts (13) and two washers (12) that attach the TRAS track lock (11) to the latch beam.

     (j) Carefully remove the TRAS track lock (11) from the latch beam.
   (3) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
