B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-36-02-480-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Installation of the 636-3000-25GSE TR DOS INSTALL TOOL
(1) Attach the 636-3000-25GSE TR DOS INSTALL TOOL to the DOS actuator (1).
(2) Use the 636-3000-25GSE TR DOS INSTALL TOOL to compress the DOS actuator (1) until the DOS rod ends line up with brackets on torque box and fan case. Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
Subtask 78-36-02-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Attach the 636-3000-25GSE TR DOS INSTALL TOOL to the DOS actuator (1).
(2) Use the 636-3000-25GSE TR DOS INSTALL TOOL to compress the DOS actuator (1) until the DOS rod ends line up with brackets on torque box and fan case. Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
B. Installation of the Door Opening System (DOS) Actuator (1)
PU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl on a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) . Remove the solvent from the faying surface with the clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before it dries.
(2) Apply a layer of the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803), to the threads of the bolts (7).
(3) Prepare thePU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803), PU4-0004A curing solution, epoxy primer and thinner (Material No.PU4-0005) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(4) Install the fitting (2) on the engine fan case with the six bolts (7) and six washers (8). Wet install the fasteners with thePU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture. Apply the PU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture under the bolt (7) heads and on the washers (8) only.
(5) TORQUE the bolts (7) to between 90 and 75 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.85 m.daN )

(6) Clean the threads of the bolts (3) and nuts (6) with the acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) . Remove the acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) from the bolts and nuts with the clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before it dries.
(7) Apply the anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0002) to the threads of the bolts (3) and nuts (6).
(8) Attach the actuator (1) to the thrust reverser with the bolt (3), bushing (4), washer (5) and nut (6).
(9) TORQUE the nut (6) to between 220 and 180 lbf.in (2.49 and 2.03 m.daN )

(10) Attach the actuator (1) to the fitting (2) on the engine fan case with the bolt (3), bushing (4), washer (5) and nut (6).
(11) TORQUE the nut (6) to between 220 and 180 lbf.in (2.49 and 2.03 m.daN )

Subtask 78-36-02-080-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: This procedure is for the left side. The right side is opposite.

(9) TORQUE the nut (6) to between 220 and 180 lbf.in (2.49 and 2.03 m.daN )
. (10) Attach the actuator (1) to the fitting (2) on the engine fan case with the bolt (3), bushing (4), washer (5) and nut (6).
(11) TORQUE the nut (6) to between 220 and 180 lbf.in (2.49 and 2.03 m.daN )
. C. Removal of the 636-3000-25GSE TR DOS INSTALL TOOL
(1) Remove the 636-3000-25GSE TR DOS INSTALL TOOL from the DOS actuator (1). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
5. Close-up(1) Remove the 636-3000-25GSE TR DOS INSTALL TOOL from the DOS actuator (1). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.

A. Test
(1) Open and close the thrust reverser with the actuator (1) to make sure that it operates correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802).
